Oh brother....is it really that hard to put some real news with teeth on as opposed to this mumbo jumbo crap about changes the structure of water due to it's perceived feelings?
Water has feelings......REALLY?

They were also talking about crystals in water.
HELLO....water doesn't have crystals.
Ice does, minerals do...but water....come on.
Water is H2O period....nothing else.
Two hydrogens and one oxygen held together by a polar covalent bond.
High school chemistry.
Nothing too complex about that.
Come on people.

It's just amazing to me how "dumbed down" the great US of A has become.

RealClearScience - The Silence of the Whales
The first man to figure this out was Roger Payne. A marine biologist, he was also first to discover and document the songs of humpback whales. He calculated that at low frequencies in the deep ocean, where sound is scarcely absorbed, two whales could communicate with each other pretty much anywhere in the world!

and yet water is a very interesting molecule.

Quote:
Quick: how many phases of water are there? If you answer three (liquid, gas, and solid) you'd be wrong. There are at least 5 different phases of liquid water and 14 different phases (that scientists have found so far) of ice.

Remember the supercooling we talked about before? Well, it turns out that no matter what you do, at -38 °C even the purest supercooled water spontaneously turns into ice (with a little audible "bang" no less). But what happens if you continue to lower the temperature? Well, at -120 °C something strange starts to happen: the water becomes ultraviscous, or thick like molasses. And below -135 °C, it becomes "glassy water," a solid with no crystal structure.
Quote:
At a molecular level, water is even weirder. In 1995, a neutron scattering experiment got a weird result: physicists found that when neutrons were aimed at water molecules, they "saw" 25% fewer hydrogen protons than expected.

Long story short, at the level of attoseconds (10-18 seconds) there is a weird quantum effect going on and the chemical formula for water isn't H2O. It's actually H1.5O!
Quote:
Water has the second highest specific enthalpy of fusion of all substance (after ammonia). The specific enthalpy of fusion of water is 333.55 kJ·kg−1 at 0 °C.

Quote:
Water has the second highest specific heat capacity of all known substances. (Ammonia has the highest specific heat.) Water also has a high heat of vaporization (40.65 kJ·mol−1). The high specific heat and heat of vaporization result from the high degree of hydrogen bonding between water molecules. One consequence of this is that water is not subject to rapid temperature fluctuations. On Earth, this helps to prevent dramatic climate changes.

I know Sam believes in things that are pretty similar. I don't think you can make a blanket generalization about a person's intellect over a single belief.

I am more concerned about the mental health of people who think they know everything, have all the answers, and are unwilling to consider other viewpoints. When you point a finger, there are three more pointing back at you. ... Judge not, etc., etc. . Usually I find that people who use personal rules to judge other people are much more lenient about applying the ''rules'' to themselves, or what they want to do.

And regardless as to how we feel about thoughts effecting water molecules, words can be very hurtful when they are directed at a person in an unkind way.

Of course, some people have developed denial as a defensive mechanism to such a great extent that they seem to be unaware of how others might feel. Yet these same people can respond with great unkindness toward others, so we must assume that they know the power of words. Being ''right'' and winning aren't always associated with those thoughts and beliefs we hold that are the most rational. All of us are guilty of rationalizing what we want to believe sometimes.

a few of the right words and gestures makes "Holy" water... but that's different right?

This just in. Pinocchio was a puppet, guided by strings.

Quite an expose there. For a moment I thought you had figured all this out for yourself.

Once there was a man who loved children. he loved them so much that he built a sandbox for them to play in. Of course, all the local Tomcats wanted to crap in the sand, so he built a special sandbox for them too. Not surprisingly, the cat box quickly became full of crap, and got smelly, so the cats started going back to the other sandbox. It turns out that cats prefer to crap in clean sand.

Now there was a lid for the sandbox, to keep out the crap, but nobody ever used it, so the hinges got rusty, and pretty soon everybody forgot that it was there. After a while, the cats started crapping pretty much anywhere they pleased, and they started walking around with a little swagger. ''Did you smell that one ?'', they would say. ''Even my farts smell good!''.

But they didn't.

PARF. Politics and Religion. Paltrow is a moron. Paltrow is a Democrat. Therefore all Democrats are morons. Take this message from your masters Pinocchio, and put it where it belongs, with all the other crap. Go to Church today, and tell your Minister that believing words have power is stupid, then say a prayer to the Flying Spaghetti Monster of your choice. Believe everyone who doesn't think exactly like you do is an idiot, and help to create crappy sandboxes wherever you go. Tell yourself that your little turds of wisdom smell like delicate little flowers.

Then tell everyone that if they don't like it, they should just click on to another thread.

Well hey guys, if anyone can say anything they want anywhere they want, is that just for some, or is it for all ? There seems to be a tremendous desire to start threads in OT that really are all about what PARF was created for, and it is like a little social experiment. Drawing a line in the sand, stepping over it, and then drawing another line.

I'm being nice here. Anyone who really knows me knows this. But I'm thinking the rules apply to all, or they apply to none. Hey, just click onto another thread man.

I cam emit low frequency sound when I am happy OR when I am angry. As a matter of fact, if I had a burrito for lunch, I can emit low frequency sound no matter what mood I'm in!

Just sayin'
That is drop dead funny.
