Gwyneth Paltrow: Mean words hurt water's feelingsPublished June 05, 2014

First she consciously uncoupled from her husband.

Then she said being criticized on social media was just like war.

Now Gwyneth Paltrow has somehow trumped both!

The Oscar winning actor and mother of two believes bad vibes can bum out water.

Yes, we’re talking H2O.

“I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter,” she wrote on her website GOOP. “I have long had Dr Emoto's coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it.”

Her scientists friend Dr. Habib Sadeghi described an experiment where “Emoto poured pure water into vials labelled with negative phrases like 'I hate you' or 'Fear'. After 24 hours, the water was frozen, and no longer crystallised under the microscope: It yielded grey, misshapen clumps instead of beautiful lace-like crystals.”

In contrast, he wrote water labeled “'I love you' or 'Peace'” produced “gleaming, perfectly hexagonal crystals.”

See – its science!

Gwyneth Paltrow... should be appreciated for the flower that she is....a beautiful flower whose petals are pure, her scent intoxicating and her sinewy stem considered a ladder to heaven...but alas a flower has no brain and it needs none...

Apparently it is a real experiment, but not one based on labels.

The labels came after as a way of identifying the samples.

It may be worth experiment on water to see how it freezes/crystallizes after exposed to different reflected light energy (pictures), or different sound wave energy (praying/music), but to what end I do not know.

The result was that we always observed beautiful crystals after giving good words, playing good music, and showing, playing, or offering pure prayer to water. On the other hand, we observed disfigured crystals in the opposite situation. Moreover, we never observed identical crystals.
I published these results as photograph collections: “Messages from Water 1” (1999), “Messages from Water 2” (2002), “Messages from Water 3” (2004), and “Messages from Water 4” (2008). (All of them are published from Hado Kyoiku-Sha.)
Then in November 2001, “Water Knows the Answer” (Sunmark Publishing) was published not as a photograph collection but as explanatory book. Many of you may know that these books have become bestseller not only in Japan but also rather in overseas.
It is “beauty” if I were asked about the selection criteria of crystals.
Rather than mock people so that you can feel smug and superior I suggest you at least try to find out what they are trying to say.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Mean words hurt water's feelings | Fox News

Fox News, come on now, how can you not question this source, there is not even an author's name on it, and absolutely no accountability for it's accuracy because of that.

Now the question becomes; what did Gwyneth Paltrow do to Fox News to piss them off so much?

EDIT-1:

Beside the obvious that Fox News can attack "science" and the "Hollywood elite" in one fail swoop (so they do so), the motivation may be purely political. Perhaps we should just have this thread to PARF?

Low frequency sound has been shown to affect crystallization (X-ray diffraction studies).

I cam emit low frequency sound when I am happy OR when I am angry. As a matter of fact, if I had a burrito for lunch, I can emit low frequency sound no matter what mood I'm in!

Just sayin'

There are vast types of energy that human animals are usually incapable of recognizing, at least on the conscious level:
-Electric eels can create lethal pulses of high voltage using their nervous systems.
-Dolphins 'see' with sonar.
-Schools of fish turn in exacting synchronicity.
-Elephants and whales communicate thru low-frequency well beyond visual range.
-Many animals sense natural disasters long before even electronic sensors.
-Birds/insects/other navigate via the earth's magnetic fields.
-Trees seed the air in times of possible drought.
-Plants sense thoughts of harm and grow accordingly.
-Plants grow faster when exposed to classical music versus hard rock.

In motors:
Around every current(brain and nerves) is a magnetic field(aura), with another weaker current outside that, etc, etc.
That's already proven science which we use daily.

Personally, I can sometimes guess the ethnicity of the person who suddenly walks up behind me in a crowd.
Maybe it's smell, noises, type of walk or other, but sometimes I feel a small shock or pulse.

So the frequencies transmitted by humans, and it's effect on nearby water crystallization, seems to be valid science.

Sorry there is no way your feelings are going to affect the "structure" of water.....just ain't happening.

She needs to invest in a good chemistry/physics class if you ask me.

But feel free to believe what you want.
That's what makes America great.

Just glad Gwyneth wasn't part of the original team that discovered the transistor....or we might still be talking to each other with tin cans and string.

I can imagine a bush growing more thorns based on airborne hormones released by the presence of large animals or even by the changes in soil chemistry brought on by their dung.

However the idea that it's reactions are based on thoughts and not sounds, vibrations (herd migration), smells or hormones is a bit hard for me to accept.

Do you have any studies on this you could post a link to?

I would not even know what to Google.

Kach:I remember reading some study from years past, but the subject is well above my pay grade.

I've read that trees will culture their insect protectors (i.e. they will emit sap to attract ants which eat the aphids which eat them).
This could be just a mindless evolutionary trait based on random genetic changes, but there's probably evidence that there exists an altering response mechanism based upon stimuli. Plants have been shown to grown differently in the presence of different sound vibration environments, so they must have some kind of receptor with a response mechanism.
Heck, atoms are just buzzy little consolidations of energy in a predicted space...

Quick search:
Growth and Plant Hormones - Biology Online
Tropisms- A tropism is a plant movement that is determined by the direction of an environmental stimulus.
Thigmotropism- Thigmotropism is a plant growth response to touching a solid object.

The Senses of the Plants
After "tasting" the chemical betraying the presence of an aggressor, a plant is able to unleash a chemical war against it. The most sensitive plants create a strong barrier between the aggressor (virus, bacterium or fungus) and the backward intact cells, killing the attacked cells.

FWIW- Nickolai Tesla was big into harmonics (creating artificial earthquakes and lightning and such), but what Paltro's into is minutia, man-made, and a single type of reaction.

Interesting to see who lined up in this thread to defend ga-winith and water from the mean words.
Predictable, but interesting.

BTW, fox news prints articles about celebrities who are total idiots all the time. They can't help it if most of them support certain politicians. Coincidence?
