of course on stock street tires. It is a street car. Like I said in another thread an aveo on hoosier DOT R compounds has more grip than a stock ferrari.

The panamera would certainly win from a dig, and there is a pretty decent chance keep that lead all the way to the end of the 1/4.

Its stupid expensive but as long as we are comparing apples to hamburgers, it is amusing to think a practical limo could possibly beat the worlds most powerfull muscle car in a drag race.

Feel free to dis it on ways it does deserve then. I'd be interested.

Trying to imagine a corporate VP in his Armani suit tossing 2x4's in the back of his Panamera. :D

Does it have one of those fancy cooling cupholders to keep my Natural Light at optimal temp?

In all seriousness, I would have a hard time ignoring it if I were in the market for a $60-$100k performance car.

2/10
Would not ride.

The best handling 2 door I,ve had (that could carry a bunch of stuff home from Home Depot) was my SVT F150 Lightning. 0-60 around 5.3 sec. .85 g's on a skidpad Not too shabby for a pickup truck. And it was probably within a couple hundred pounds of the Challenger @4600 lb. Why are all these new muscle cars still so heavy? I bought and sold a 2012 Boss 302 because it was fast but I felt like Joanah while inside the whale.

Typical Pelican responses.
Excuse me but did you just insult everyone who responded to this thread and everyone on the pelican board? Who the f do you think you are?

I could give a crap less about the car but just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them less than you. Grow some manners for crying out loud.

You don't like the responses go somewhere else.

Many of the responses on the link posted were similar to the ones here.

It's a fawking car. Who cares if everyone/no one agrees with you. Seriously.

Not a fan of the Challenger...just way too thick with a beltline that could come down a few inches. Would rather of had them spend a little more time in the design studio than figuring out how to add more (unnecessary) hp.
I'd prefer something more along these lines...

The new Mustang is a very pretty car. Easily the best looking of the three.

aschen 07-02-2014 05:59 PM

The new mustang is ..........boss. Looks good I wish the windows were a bit bigger and the weight reduction that was promised didn't materialize. Its the best bargain going in cheaper coupes

Eric, you're a damn smart guy when it comes to cars. With people, sometimes not so much. Opinions are like a-holes, everybody has them. All the data in the world likely won't change them. Further, you're on a Porsche BBS. Porsche sports cars are the antithesis of this Challenger. You shouldn't be surprised that this crowd doesn't cream their pants over a big heavy car with a huge high HP motor.

Oh yeah, and the Cayenne is a big heavy overpriced pig.

Adam 07-02-2014 07:54 PM

I can't understand all the hate. There aren't many cars under US$1m that offer 700+ hp. If this thing was $150k, it would be a bargain, but at ~$60-70k it will be incredible value.

Matt, yes

You guys are getting caught up in the numbers and missing the real issue...it's a chitbox. For those not in the know, "chitbox" is an industry term meaning "box containing chit" :)

The materials and build quality of Chrysler products (and GM) is/are horrendous. Making the numbers look pretty is the easy part...

I've been in the automotive manufacturing world for ~30 years (did take a 5 year hiatus) and I assure you the materials and design used by Chrysler/GM (Ford to a lesser extent) is simply inferior.

All of the above is my educated and experienced opinion and nothing else so feel free to tell me I'm wrong as you're welcome to your opinions as well :)

kaisen 07-02-2014 08:39 PM

Likely very true.

This Hellcat is built like a $26K car....that's the base Challengers starting MSRP

The other $30K or so goes into items that make it go faster or add features, not better dashboard materials or cleaner moulded washer bottles.

It's like the $85K BMW M3 I sat in yesterday..... still built exactly the same as the cheap $32K 320i it's based on

Except the 320 was a lot nicer to start with...

Eric, you accuse us of being biased against American cars, you seem biased against German cars....

Again, different strokes, but don't act surprised about which side of the fence most of us are on.
