No usual panicked braking, smart brake pedal work, and back on the gas at the appropriate point of the turn exit! Highway had been clear due to to the time of day and we were beyond the motorcycle playgrounds mostly! Thus closed up on the tail, held it there and the guy seemed to stay poised. Tried to pick it up a little bit more thus I knowing the road very well, I took advantage of a high speed turn with the late apex and took it to the pass on a known short straight! It was as simple as that. Then came into the twisties again and tight turns, his brakes are good, but he was slipping back some and then I decided that I was gone!

PS I have had many of those type scenarios where I was driving quick with no plan to engage anyone, and have had people come up and try to race me. Quick evaluation of the road, traffic, where the police would be, the type of car, and whatever I can figure out about the driver. If it is a stupid car, I won't entertain them. But if it is someone worth the time, who knows! But if I see dangerous or stupid, I will hit the brakes and take the car to the far right lane and let them travel stupidly and dangerously up the highway without me! No shame in that!

Thus on twisty canyon mountain rodes, I bet this scenario is repeated daily all over the place!

There should be a cap on the usage of "thus". Only so many per post. Thus it wouldn't be so annoying.

Thus unsubscribed. And thus I decided that I was gone also...

Haha. The neon underbody kit almost stalled my car from fear.

Uh, it's your addition to the end of your comment that kind of makes that a big fat load of B.S.

I know, I know - "He did it first!"

Where do you order these from?

Yeah, that's right, I'm dis'goosed too! Its always about your cockamania Corvette and Poochee.

Don't forget about those little mity mites of a single liter having a fraction of the tire surface area... and only two contact patchs... compared to those fatso 4 wheelers.

And now there's granny in her zippie Honda, Toyota or Nissan that a ZR1 would have a problem with.

edit: Watch out for them electric car fanatics. I think there's some lovers on the Testacle car thread now bragging how fast they are.

I like the new corvette, only one since 58 i like, but for that money i would buy a panamera turbo, and beat it drinking a latte while my kids are in the back seat playing real racing beating a corvette in a panamera turbo....
