Every man should own a SCUD missile launcher at least once in his life. Makes for polite neighbors.

I wonder why the PKW Mark IV didn't sell for $1.75 million ?

He also had a PKW Mark V Panther which I assume would have been the most valuable piece by far and it isn't listed here. Wonder what happened to it?

You can't ever have too many tanks.

I saw a tv show about the upcoming auction. Most of the really good stuff was kept, and the foundation will use the sales proceeds to build a new facility for a museum.

A tank is a lot more affordable than I thought. Time to clean out the garage to try and make room.

This half-track Citroen sold for a seriously cheap price @ $35K, as these are incredibly historical vehicles originally designed to be used in pre WW1 Russia.
A fleet of these went Paris to Peking in the 1920s (via Tibet - or was that just in Tin Tin? )

Years ago Littlefield would give pre-arranged tours to people and I would have loved to have seen the collection before the sale.

The biggest problem with tanks is that they have to be transported everywhere and even then you have to be concerned about potential damage to public roads and bridges.

How many reverse gears does it have? Does it still have the pop up white flags?

I also don't see the loudspeaker so the recorded "I surrender" in 15 languages can be heard....

And no matter how much money or toys you have when alive, when you die you take nothing with you from this world.

You don't take anything at all. That's what being dead means. You stop existing. I hope to leave a few things behind though.

Speaking of taking your toys with you, I stopped at a crappy, run down little used car lot the other day because I had driven past a mid eighties SC targa (nice paint/body but ratty top...so maybe bad interior) and a couple of clean looking, but primered early/mid '70s BMW 2002s for about a week there. As I parked and got out...about 40 ft from the cars...an old guy ran up to me waving his arms and started yelling at me not to look in the Targa. He had a thick accent...so It was hard to understand, but my general premise is that cars parked on a used lot are for sale (none were anything special). He was somehow concerned that people looking in other peoples cars...was not polite. It seems that the BMWs were his, but the Targa was a customer's car. He asked me where I was from as if it must be another planet or maybe he does not sell to anyone from elsewhere (I guess I didn't look local...so I told him I live in VA). He told me the BMWs were his, but they were very expensive and I could not afford them. It seems that of all the cars on his lot, only one was actually for sale. Hard to make much money that way (no, it was not the guy in Wyoming...but strangely, that was the street name).

People can just keep their toys as far as I am concerned.

Some are born free. Some have freedom thrust upon them. Others simply surrender

I've never seen a hearse with a luggage rack.

I want to die in debt, spend all my money and someone else's too.

That is only an opinion. Millions of others disagree with you. That said, it would suck if all you get is this world.
