Nice. That was interesting. Some of them seemed like they just kept right on going without stopping. Some had to have been 1-2' from getting under. When I've seen stuff like that in the past, I always thought, sheesh, the guy driving the truck should know how tall his truck is. And in many of those cases, that's true. But I have rented a 24' or was it a 28' u-Haul once, and I have no idea how tall it was. It never occurred to me to ask, and I don't think the rental place mentioned it.

You would think with that many trucks banging into the bridge, they would do something. about it. I've seen instances where they lowered the road to increase the clearance. I think this municipality is deriving some sort of perverse please from this.

There's another set of pictures somewhere of a truck vs rail bridge and the truck won. They probably didn't think that one was as funny.

I like the driver of the 2nd truck with hay bales. He sees the first truck not make it through cleanly. Poof. Yet, undeterred, he forges his way under the bridge immediately after.

Ouch, my RV is 12' but it would "only" wipe out the A/C units.

Makes me want an 11' 8" bridge around here, just for the entertainment.

Too bad no semi trucks are ever come way out here.

Just imagine you and your honey bunny are jammy to tunes on your way to a weekend at the RV park. After a few miles in town you hit the turnpike for some miles and more tunes. Wow, it's getting hot out, glad we for the trailer with AC!

The last time I went to U-haul to rent a trailer they had a few large trucks on the lot. All of them had damage up top. Mostly from gas station awnings I would guess.

Back when I was into water skiing and wakeboarding, my buddy did this with his brand new wakeboard boat. We had a LONG day on the lake, were completely exhausted, and forgot just how tall a wakeboard tower with speakers really is, as you enter a Burger King drive through (trailering the boat)!!!!! Oh man, the carnage! The look on his face!

Oh yea. I bet they didn't figure it out until they turned the A/C on and it didn't work...ahahaha

A half-wit I worked with at Cintas drove a 12'8" box under a 11'2" (clearly marked) drive through at a Honda dealership. $58k in damage

Seems like those bridges are just high enough that they don't trigger a 'hmmm....' response in people.

We have a 13' bridge in the area, and a wally world distribution center as well as a dollar general distribution center about a mile away from it. At least once a month I see a semi struggling to turn around. Apparently the trucker maps don't have it marked properly...

I am sorry but I don't find it funny. Luckily for those drivers they had box trucks that either just gave way and/ or stuck out far enough past the rear axle that the rear bumper hit the ground before the cab hit the bottom of the bridge. In a dump truck
The cab goes up and hits the bottom of the bridge and kills the driver. The rental companies should be stricter about who they give a truck to or at least make the renter pass a short test first.

All the U-hauls I've ever rented had the clearance printed right on them; on the front of the "box" where you could see it by looking in your side mirror...
