Yuenglings my go to beer. But on a hot day or any day that I'm gonna be pounding them down I want something light. |
I've had some really bad beers like Robinhood Creamale, shocktop, Bluemoon, (wheat doesn't belong in beer), and of course, Old Milwaukee light at some beer festivals that I used to go to.

Beer...such a great thing. It comes in all flavors and can be served at several different temperatures. I like them all, some more than others.
Sure, I've hated on some beers and thumped my chest about them being piss-water. But truth is, do a blind taste test with some pilsners. Bud, Bud light, Miller, Miller Lite, PBR, etc... I think you'd be surprised at the results. I'm not saying everyone cannot tell the diff, just more folks than you'd expect will have a hard time. Wrt the after effects, Bud will give me a headache fairly easily. But if I only have one or two, I'm ok. PBR? Love it. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing, my Grandpa drank it, my cousins and I drank it at the lake a LOT in our youth, and it gets the job done. My all time favorite beer is my former Father-in-law's home brew. Former Marine ( Viet Nam ) and worked on helicopters his whole life. Did final inspection on Apache/Longbow for years. Meticulous to the Nth degree. His beer is the shiz-nit. He makes a Belgium trippel and double bock that is so good. I'm going to visit him next week in SandyEggo. I hope he's made some, if not, we'll hit Green Flash Brewery and/or Stone and get some growlers filled. But I guarantee he has some Miller Lite in his fridge. You're lucky your buddy didn't have a coronary event. Americans aren't as fit as they once was. Lousy beer doesn't help either.

I will also add that I prefer canned beer... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gifhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...eys/hiding.gif |
I always ask if they have cans, much prefer beer that way.
Never fails in bars w/o cans and I get bottled beer the dumbass bartender asks me if I want a glass. My response to the D/A bartender is "it's in a glass." |
I believe the beer was Coors in the movie.

To everyone that can get Yuengling locally - I hate you. It's not available in the central states, I have to make up for lost time when I visit FL. |

It would have to be " I've been sitting on the sun " for a week for me to enjoy a Budweiser :D
|
I'd try one and see what the hoopla is about, but you can't actually order a Budweiser at any pub in Portland. It's illegal or something.
Where you going? Mono Pass? |
We used to drink cases of bud back in high school. Now, one or two buds is a guarantee for a headache. Bud light is the only beer that has induced an instant gag reflex.
PBR has made a huge comeback over the last 2 year's. Makes me laugh, that's the beer would steal out of our neighbors garage back in the younger days. And that was only as a last option if we couldn't get anything else. |

I love it that I can get Sam Adams, Dales Pale (always was in a can), Stella, Siera Nevada, etc. in cans!

We have a ton of beer choices here in the Pacific Northwest. I like lots of the micros, but much like many other posters here I don't there is anything wrong with an American style pilsner on a hot summer's day. I personally prefer Miller High-Life in a bottle. So cold it makes your teeth ache.

we had a gig at the local Bud brewery yesterday, they have a sample room were you can try all their products, sadly I don't drink anymore, but did sip some of their new stuff and was pleasantly surprised (and those who know me know that I'm a beer snob, from before it was cool. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1405890082.jpg
