I'm a total beer snob and my father in law HATES all my BIG TASTE beers!!!!! Last night he comes over with six ice cold MGD's.....What the heck....tasted ok and went down in a flash!!!! Very easy drinking and good when you have a big thirst and don't want to get drunk, I enjoyed it, er them.....(he only drank one)

Hey Byron...remember Ragtimes? That restaraunt/bar at Atlantic Beach years ago that had a really nice selection of at least 30+ beers on draft. So what did I order when I was there...."BUD". Yep, I always caught hell from the bartenders too! I'm much "weiser" now :D

Yes, it is still there, a long time friend tend bar there.
And now, there are several micro-breweries in town.. Sadly, now that they are catching up with my taste, I can't enjoy them:(

Spotted Cow! I drank the hell out of that when I was in WI last year. Great beer!

+1 to the PacNW brew options. Even in little old Spokane we have some pretty kicking micro-brews. I really want to make the trip to Bend and do the brew tour (they have pedal around one of those carts and hit six breweries or something). I might try to find a place to hide in Deschutes Brewery and move in.

It appears so sir. A few friends rented a cart like it to run around downtown Spokane on the 4th - it was pretty fun. Would have been better with a fresh Inversion from Deschutes at the end though.

I just had a Schlitz beer this past weekend at the vintage. I have not had one since 1970. It wasn't bad. I was surprised.

This thread made me go out and try something new, so I got a six of Guinness the other day and tried one on Sunday night in a frosted root beer mug. I nearly spit it out, but went ahead and put down half of one beer, and figured out that I was dreading my next gulp.

I ended up pouring it down the sink, and am trying to figure out who of friends would like the remaining five beers (?!?)

Wrong type of glass for starters. And quite likely the wrong temp, too.

If you wanted to try something different, you didn't need to go all the way to the deep end and try a stout.
