We don't come out of the womb equipped with all the knowledge we'll need. The tuition costs for some of that learning is less if you can learn from the lessons of others. J-Hooks always seemed like a pricey way to get your kicks. I got to see a piston and rod jammed between the crank and cam (in 3 pieces at that point) of a SBC due to the combination of poor assembly and enthusiastic throttle control. I ended up with a Holley carb, Weinand intake and a pair of Headman Hedders for a really nice price, though. Kind of like a scholarship for my education costs...

Hooning. Pretty much describes any seat time on a motorcycle. I have a Ducati Hypermotard that begs to be hooned around on anytime I swing a leg over.

Great stories but...

did any of you do a neutral to drive slam in your Moms 82 Citation?

"I don't know Dad, I gently pressed the gas pedal leaving the stop sign and the transmission just stopped working".

He knew better.

I taught my younger brother to do the reverse to 1st slam when he was 16.
Then i told him not to do it anymore 'cause it was bad for the car.
tee hee.

A few weeks later my dad walked into my room and said come on, your brother just broke the car.

it was only a mile away, there was the gran torino with 400 small block 2 ba-barrel, and a small puddle of tranny oil under it. it also had a small trail leading down the street, around the corner, to another larger puddle with a few parts in it and a one-legger black stripe next to it.

IIRC dad was't all that happy.

Leave out the "a"... I thought it was there, too... but it's not... heard its absence the next time CHL played on TCM.

Captain, Road Prison 36: What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men.

When I was growing up they called them Rockfords. My buddy who lived in Seattle called them Brodies.
We had a rich friend in Palm Springs who's Dad bought her a new Mustang. We drove it like a rental car and the tranny didn't las the weekend.
