I finally got my watch back!

My dad purchased a Bulova Astronaut in 1967. I remember his wearing it a lot as a pilot in the Air Force. The watch has some wear but it is in fairly nice condition.

It has not worked is many years. As I cleaned out his house I found the watch and I sent it to be repaired back in January on this year. I finally got it back today. It is working and looking great.

It is a 1967 Accutron 214 with the bullet style band. This is just a quick iPhone photo.

I will not wear it very often but I will remember him every time I do.

I am sure he had it on for this picture back when it was new.

The watch repair guy said it is worth between $1,000 to $1,600 but it is not for sale at any reasonable price. For enough cash I will sell anything. No one will offer me enough to sell it.

The only reason I am posting this is I came to the brain trust for advice on where the send it. I sent it to a place called Boomertime. They did just what we discussed and I am happy.

Congrats. Definitely a priceless treasure. Enjoy it.

Just this weekend, my dad gave me my grandfathr's 1940s vintage Omega. It still works and keeps decent time but needs some TLC. Will be having it serviced soon.

I like it better like that. Makes it more "dad's," in my opinion.

That's perfect.

Working and "the way dad left it" is also what I would want.

I would wear it daily as well. Sort of how I have a picture in my office of my Grandfather. Inspiration and perspective.
