help ! can of lighter fluid spilled in back seat floor.

t was at the bouckville antique show today and bought a can of old lighter fluid.
short version is that it upended and opened spilling about a pint of really smelly old stuff into the back carpet.
so far the first thing i've thought of was setting a bag of charcoal on the floor and leaving it in the sun.

any ideas would be welcome, thanks.

Rub baking soda/talc powder/kitty litter in to soak up the liquid, then vacuum out when dry?
