TCU has looked most impressive the latter half of the season, they deserved to be in the Championship hunt. Athletic, strong, innovative, well prepared. They can play heads up with anybody. The loss to Baylor was a fluke (and I'm typing this 5 miles from the Stadium where it happened).

34 degrees and rainy here, it's a good day to watch football inside. I'm looking forward to the games today. Rooting for Oregon over FSU

Just in case you did not stay up, Georgia Tech (11-3) whipped up on Miss St. by a score of 49-35! Seems that the former #1 just did not have an answer for CPJs spread option offense or the triple option play!!!! Actually, this was a great game by two very talented and well coached teams. But, as Coach Paul Johnson said after the game "Now we won't have to hear about the SEC for a couple of weeks!". Not a bad season for the Yellow Jackets! They won 10 of 12 games in the regular season, came within two points of beating Florida State in the ACC championship game, beat in state rival Georgia in overtime and won the Orange Bowl. The 3 games they lost this year were by a total of 13 points!

Congrats to GT (from a Clemson fan) and the ACC. It will be funny to watch E-SEC-PN try to downplay the sub-par showing of the SEC this bowl season. Unfortunately, I will be rooting for FSU tonight. Don't think they can overcome the Ducks though. I've not followed Oregon closely this year, but from what I have read it seems that Marcus is the anti-Jameis.

That GT offense is such an outlier it will befuddle that vast majority of defensive squads. Still trying to figure what the HELL happened to Ole Miss. TCU obliterated them worse than Clemson did to Oklahoma.

Assuming our phenom QB is fully healed, Clemson's schedule is sitting up nicely for a run at the play-offs next year.

I didn't mean for my prior post to take anything away from GT, which is a damn good football team running a very unique offense. They dominated MSU, the game wasn't as close as the score. I was more mocking the fact that anybody believed MSU was the #1 team in the nation based on the fact that they are an SEC team with a few decent conference wins.

I'm enjoying this season's bowl games. Lots of drama and unexpected outcomes. Six out of of 12 games were won by the underdog. Yesterday was great, my picks went 3 for 3. I've had bad bronchitis and I've been sitting quietly for 10 days (doctor's orders!) so I've watched them all.
I'm 7 for 12 so far, but I took some chances on today's games. I went with Mich St. +3 over Baylor. I don't know why, as I expect Baylor to kick butt. Had to go with Ohio State or never show my face around here again. (Go big 10 - all 14 of them!).I have Oregon whooping Fl by 10 and I think it will be closer than that. We'll see.

Yes I do. The Mississippi teams were way over hyped. OU finished mid-pack in the Big 12 and had a pretty bad season.

There was a lot of parity this year. Unfortunately many rankings were more based on hype and big names than accomplishments.

Wow! Kudos to the Spartans for not giving up when the game looked over. TCU made a statement yesterday, Baylor made a different sort of statement today. Pretty hard to beat a good team when you don't run the ball or play defense.

I was on the Baylor wagon based on their head to head win over TCU.
Their respective bowl games have changed my opinion.
Another Big Ten win!
