It's not going to slay any Porsches as long as it comes with an automatic.

Otherwise an impressive piece of machinery, though.

Not quite an automatic, basically a 7 speed standard trans with two electric clutches and
NO torque converter. A standard tranny you can shift in milli seconds instead of the old archaic clutch pedal. By the way, the same type system (PDK) that is the only tranny available on the 2015 Porsche Turbo S! Standard clutch operated trannies in high performance sports
cars are becoming a thing of the past, just check Ferrari, BMW, and AUDI. The Bugatti Veyron started the whole PDK type tranny thing.
You can call them automatics, as they technically are such, however they can be computer controlled to shift automatically, or switched to strictly manual shifting by paddle or shift lever.

Most AMGs are great in a straight line, but try taking a turn without going sideways and wasting valuable seconds and tires.. no competition

Looks like a Hyundai or KIA, whatever, keep on keeping on. There is always gonna be something faster or "better", but at the end of the day I will still prefer my 30 year old Porsche or even a new 911, but always a 911.

Re: "Automatic transmissions." I was once critical of them, until I drove a new Carrera at the Richard Petty Driving School at Walt Disney World in Orlando. The "instructor" gave me the option of using the paddles, or "D". I started by selecting D, and concentrated on learning the car/track. In 6 laps I was going very quickly, and decided to let the trans do the work. On lap 8 my instructor said, "You're not going to get any more out of that corner." Enuf said.

Personally, I like the looks at the angle of the photo.

PDK's and the like are here to stay. We would never have had manual transmissions in the first place if our forefathers knew how to build an automatic way back when.

As much as I'll always prefer a stick shift in my Ford Focus or Porsche 911, a smarter better faster future is here. Get over it.

Not so much really.

A side view shows it to be simple and elegant. I like it.

I think it is a great looking car.

As far as a Porsche slayer, which Porsche? Standard Carrera or GT2 RS?

Healthy competion is needed for continious improvement.

this is what the SL black should have been. while a handsome car, it looks like a convertible with a hardtop, sort of a like a s2k with a hardtop to me. i love the hatch trunk.
