ROFLMAO.

Popular car or something like that, but "driver's" car? What kind of driver?

Guess Chevy gave them the most advertising money this year. Motor Trend is a joke.

Is it safe to presume that those who disagree with the MT conclusion have driven one?

I drove one this summer for a week and I thought it handled very well and was a ton of fun to drive. My only complaint was cheap interior parts and cardboard-like seats.

Not sure fugly is the word. Odd, cartoonish. As though the car in the cartoon Cars was used as inspiration as much as the 69 Camaro. It is striking but cannot be taken seriously. I have driven the standard Camaro but not the Z28. Visability was better than expected but as noted, cheap materials. I did really hammer it so handling at the extreme was never experienced. I found it a not much different experience than driving the new Challenger.

The $$ figures are just silly on these cars.

The "price as tested" on most of what I've read have been $73-76k...let's call it $74k for even numbers. Steeep price tag IMO, but that's not my focus.

The real gutteral laughter begins, without end in sight, whence one discovers the LEASE figures... A lease STARTS at $1,336/mo. !!!!????

I'll keep my mortgage payment, GM can keep their silly looking transformer.

C&D did a story on them many years ago where they were going to name some Audi Car of the Year but wanted 10 new Audis to use for the year in their pool. Audi refused and they named some Toyota I think Car of the Year, so...

I haven't picked up a MT magazine in a few decades but I remember that they used to have a "Car of the Year" and a lesser award for, "Foreign Car of the Year..."

So yeah, that's legit.

I used to read Motor Trend long ago. When the Chevy Vega was awarded "Car of the Year" I laughed and figured out MT is just an advertisement cover to cover. No real reporting, just write what the manufactures want you to say.

I remember being at the Detroit auto show 3 years ago and looking at the new Camaro and not being impressed. The interior was full of cheap parts (door arm rest already broken), uncomfortable hard seats, and a really thick clunky steering wheel. I also remember that the hood was not aligned properly.

It truly paled in comparison to the new Boss 302 Mustang.

I went so far as to sit in a SS on a dealer lot. Visibility was so bad, I didn't bother to test drive it.

Sounded awesome, though.

I haven't read the main stream mags for years; most new vehicles just don't interest me. I still get Octane, Excellence and Pano.

Automobile Magazine liked the 2015 Corvette too. My friend who has had many different fast cars bought a new one and loves it. But he is ready to sell it, he has ordered a 2016 vet.
