beheading videos

Another video has apparently been released. This time the victim was a Brit.

I don't think I have it in me to watch one and wonder about the effects of seeing it (not to mention the agony of the victim knowing their fate and their experience as it happens, their family and loved ones...). I'd have to think seeing such a thing would reverberate through the viewer's life for a long time. Beheadings are not new to humanity but the videos seem to be. Anyone else have impressions?

I have no desire to see one and imagine it would leave a deep scar on my psyche if I did.

A tangential thought....if the screen shot I see of the victims kneeling in the desert are for real...why do they seem so calm? Why aren't they struggling? Perhaps hoping that it isn't their time to die?

Damn shame that ISIS even exists.

I wont watch them out of principle but also to show respect for the victims and their families.

These idiots have managed to unite the Arab world with their actions.
They must have the most incompetent leadership in the history of mankind.

People should be able to disagree without becoming mortal enemies. Nobody learns if everyone thinks the same.

If you can, please do express yourself in a way that is not inflammatory or alternatively consider re-posting in PARF for discussion there. Either way, I'd like to read about people's thoughts on this topic.

There will always be a few extremists inflicting horrors upon others. Be it ISIS, a guy with a gun in Norway, a disgruntled ex-army nut job in Oklahoma, etc.

There's really nothing that can be done about them. It just doesn't make sense to dwell upon and relive their brand of horror. All that can be done is to grieve for the victims.

Don, with all due respect, these beheadings are not an indication of what our world has become. Its a few people in a very small part of the world.

Don't watch. I see no need to succumb to sensationalist pseudo-journalism. I generally believe in remembering how people lived, not how they died and I'd rather hear about that.

I have little respect for the people that feel the need to pass this stuff around like its free entertainment. This is someone's son/daughter or possibly mother/father. A little respect.

I've seen people mutilated because of a dipute over the feeding ground of a goat.
There's nothing like the smell of human guts after it been in the sun for a while.
That was in Africa back in the 80s.

Take my word for it. Experiencing something like this changes you forever.

Totally agree...

human beings have been doing horrible things (torture, dismembering, hanging etc.) since the beginning of time... the only thing new here is they are posting videos of the brutality.

For that matter, underground "snuff" videos have been around for some time.
