I was upset about the low tire pressure warning light on my Bentley Continental GT Speed.
The more I thought about it, the more angry I became.
I walked down the lane and threw my martini across the lawn of the guest house.

Found out today I can either stay in Palmdale for another year then move back to Indy.....or take a management job with my agency, get a rather nice bonus but commute about an hour from my house in Indy. The lateral transfer would be a 15 minute commute, but a non-management job. The management job would get me home much sooner.

Client: "The drawer pulls are 40 dollars, but I like the look of the 17 dollar one. Are they cheap pulls, that why they are only 17 dollars?"

"Lets design my kitchen around the 8500 dollar Wolf range. I really like the way it looks."

The intention of the thread was to encourage others to consider issues of greater importance by mocking myself for having concerns which in the grand scale of things are so trivial. We first world folks spend so much time on "problems" like "how much hassle I had getting my cable channel selection upgraded" as opposed to "how can I help a hurting child get away from an abusive parent?".

I guess some people reject having thoughts about anything other than themselves. They have that right and in that case, would consider this thread useless.

Maybe the lack of responses to the thread is an indicator of priorities (or just a rejection of the OP).

I can't deny that eating animals is less beneficial in the health perspective. Being a vegetarian is also a greater use of the world's resources.

In the case of the video though, it seems that she wasn't concerned about health or world hunger but was concerned with the feelings of a chicken and how it was murder to eat "her little girl" (which lends me to wonder if she was grieving over how offended she felt about animals). She had some very nice trendy clothing on where as she could have bought Walmart clothes and donated the difference to feed the poor.

As far as where to draw the line is concerned... Air conditioning uses ungodly amounts of resources that could be used to help people with no heat. It is not a necessity. Money spent on organic foods could be spent on feeding the homeless (at a mildly possible expense to my health)... We make choices as to what is important to us. What I consider to be a necessity is pompous luxury to 75% of the rest of the world.

I heard somewhere a guy lecturing on the third world... he stated that 90% of the human beings on the face of the planet do not own a car.

A friend of mine was a software engineer... he was doing a job in Mexico city (decades ago) and staying at the VP's house... it got a little cold so he asked if they could turn on the heater... you guessed it, the VP of the company didn't have a heater in his house.

My motorcycle season was short changed with a limit of 16,000 miles.

This was caused mainly by a month long trip to Europe in June and now a 25 day Mediterranean Cruise. Maybe I'll rent a bike for the day in Greece or Monaco?

There is some calcium scale build-up on the tile where the spa spills over into my swimming pool!!!!!

I have to go buy another set of tires for my Cobra. Darn race tires are only good for a couple years because they have no preservatives and I mainly use them on the street.

I recently went to the dentist for a check-up/cleannig, which is covered under insurance. Free/grata/no charge etc.

The bastage den-tite said it's been two years since full mouth x-rays, I said whatever, fine.
Then I get a bill for $95 for the portion of the x-ray cost the insurane company didn't pay.
I don't know if I want to live in a country where dentists can bill the patient as much as they want.

Of course I called the dentist's office and cancelled my next 6 month appointment and told them I'd be getting myself a new den-tist.

So now I'm looking for a good dentist in north OC that doesn't over-charge. ;)

Turned my 2011 chevy diesel crew cab p/u back into chevy for lemon law. Got my check, went to GMC, bought a 2015 GAS pick up. They brought it to my house, signed the papers, all is good...till the next day. Turns out it was a DOUBLE cab (smaller rear passenger area)...so now my hawk won't fit in her box back there. They are sussing a crew cab for me now; had to take the Ferrari to work. :(

That Ferrari car show on Rodeo Drive last weekend was fantastic. Perfect SoCal weather. Gorgeous selection of F-cars, including 3 LeMans winners. Classy location. And beautiful women everywhere. How would I ever pick just one car to take home?
