Now that my raisin ratio is fixed I noticed that now that the fall weather is here when I sit on the commode it is a little too cool for my taste. Should I wake my wife to pre-warm it or buy a commode seat heater?

Why are you tasting your commode???

not me, but obviously a real first world problem

My buddy and I were complaining today about our tailor and were whining about where else can we go to buy custom suits.

We only had a total of 8 trick-or-treaters come by last night....now we have all this candy left over....

Por_sha911 11-01-2014 02:34 PM

So, now that we've had our fun bragging about how prosperous and wealthy we are, what are we doing to help the other 80% of the world?

Have I become so self-absorbed with my comfort, status, play toys... that I have lost compassion for the poor and needy who genuinely need a hand up not a hand out?

I say this not for anyone to answer or defend themselves but rather as a challenge for each of us to look inward and ask ourselves "can I do something more?"

The holidays are coming up. How many people do we know who are genuinely struggling to get by? Don't want to donate to a charity or to someone who may be less deserving? How about the entry level guy at work? Maybe the gal who brews your latte but has to work two jobs to feed her family? How about that guy down the street who lost his job due to layoffs and his family is struggling? It is so easy to become desensitized to needy people. When I lived in NY, I would step right over homeless people living on the sidewalk without ever having one thought about that poor soul. No, I'm not going to give him money but I could have bought a cup of soup or chili when I picked up my lunch and handed it to him. I didn't then. I want to do better now.

We have so much. Giving a little each day is better than a whole lot never done.

scottmandue 11-01-2014 02:49 PM

I propositioned a hot chick on the street and she posted my picture on the internet.

dmcummins 11-01-2014 05:50 PM

I had to watch a blu Ray on my 60" plasma because the new projector I ordered for my home theater room hasn't come in yet.

JD159 11-01-2014 06:16 PM

The auto brightness limiter on my plasma tends to dim randomly during hockey games. Petty problems...

Sounds like a topic deserving its own thread.

The company will only let me fly to AU and NZ in Business Class Lay down flat seats, but not as good food or beverages.

Mrs Saucy last night "Now that we've redone the walk-in closet I'm having a real issue figuring out where my longs and shorts are going to hang..."

GH85Carrera 11-21-2014 08:58 AM

I winterized the air conditioner for the garage and got the heater plugged in. I installed my new stereo in my daily driver last weekend and worked in t-shirt and jeans in comfort even though it was freezing outside. Streaming music from my iPhone to the car stereo or using a 16 Gig thumb drive as a music source is great. I have not decided if I want to hook up the microphone for making hands free phone calls yet. I normally never bother with phone calls while driving.

Head416 11-21-2014 10:39 AM

I had to buy a cheap used car because I'm still waiting for my company car to arrive. FML.

I just used this thread as a life lesson for my daughter, who was complaining about how she didn't like the fit of her brand new adidas tennis shoes on the court compared to her older K-Swiss shoes (which weren't really that worn out btw....

You do realize this thread is all about tongue in cheek sarcastic humor... right?

Por_sha911 08-05-2015 02:58 PM

You do realize that I started the post and it was about encouraging folks to think about not being self-absorbed selfish people, don't you?

LEAKYSEALS951 08-05-2015 03:49 PM

Good God man!!!!! The only fine shoe store within 2 hours of my house is a Jos.A Banks, and all they sell is crap. My Cole Haan's wear out within 3 months and are not rebuildable by my cobble, so in an act of desperation- I BOUGHT USED ALLEN EDMOND LOAFERS off of ebay!!!! They smelled okay, but AE sizes about 1/2 size TOOOOO BIG, so I will need to go to Hilton Head outlet store and buy another set of Allen Edmonds at full price to ensure they fit! THE TRAVESTY!!!!!

And what about this kid????? She gets her toys from FAO Schwarz... She has it all... Everything, EXCEPT FEET!!!!!
