Game 7 is gonna be a "barn burner"!!!
|
So....um...Who saw that coming? That kinda looked like how we beat the O's! I'm just messin with ya! It's a great night in KC Boys.
|
Great game tonight.......for us!!! Tomorrow night's gonna be fun. History either way is going to be made and certainly was tonight!
|
Damn KC came alive last night. Let's go Royals!
|
That was pretty ugly from my vantage point. I have no idea what's going to happen tonight. Should be fun, though. A warning to KC fans: MadBum will be lurking in the bullpen like some kind of caged beast waiting to be loosed on his prey.
|
Fantastic series.
|
Tonight will be 8-4 Giants...
|
I love women who get jazzed about baseball. Saw the following when I checked Facebook last night after the game. CB is a friend in Sacto and is a huge Giants fan and all of these are comments by women except where noted...
_________ CB: Here's an idea, Play baseball. JB: No s#*t!!!!! What is going on tonight? CL: I swear sometimes I think this is all fixed for ratings. Seriously?? They are playing this badly?!? My sons 11u team would be better JB: My mom said the same thing! She thinks it's for ratings too. She says it'll go to the 7th game. I hope she's wrong. CL: A lot of people are saying it especially MLB as a whole isn't as popular as other sports. Let's see what happens here. Based loaded! CL: Son of a b*+ch. CB: Machi?? Ugh RS (CB's bf): I can't wait to kick there ass tomorrow night! AL: Any more ideas? This is awful. RS: I love our sport, our game:) tomorrow is a new day and a chance to be world champions again:) bottom line!! CB: Here's another idea, don't swing at first pitch with bases loaded. HT: Posey has Been doing tht lately and I cannot stand it CB: Pisses me off KK (guy): Deep breath HT: Thank you!!!! We had bases loaded with a pitcher who was wailing everyone.. Wtf?!!! KS: Every curse word in the book. a different CB: wthwthwth MS: How bout a full swing, no elbows by your side KK (guy): How about "Footloose" on CMT JH: "First Pitch Posey" is killing me. Goes for the first pitch after the pitcher had just walked 3 batters. I am convinced that the Giants were drugged on the plane to KC, replaced with poor clones and are bound and gagged somewhere in a KC airport hanger!!! Who are these people??? CW (guy): You tell em coach CB JH: CB - Your boy's in!!! CB: He did good JH: I am officially heartbroken!!!! So Game 7 is it. We better KICK SOME ASS! CB: Really?? I have no words. KM (guy): They should have pitched Baumgartner...... KM: At least Joe Buck is doing an outstanding job at color commentary. CB: Shut it KM lol FP (guy): I think you can bet on Bum going tomorrow. RS (CB's bf): Game 7 b*+ches!! JH: Well, you gotta give it to the Giants.....when they go out, they go out BIG! I have people from my office volunteering to bring over a defibrillator for the coronary I'm about to have!!!! KM: Speechless. Notice Bruce is hiding the whole game. KS: That's because there are no words for the s#*++ty way they are playing. And F*** Joe Buck. He's an idiot!!! CB: You said it Kathi RS (CB's bf): They won! Oh ok. Tomorrow night... RS (CB's bf): Champions...Giants!! JMB: I have words but I don't want to put them on Facebook! RS (CB's bf): The Giants will use 9 pitchers tonight and score enough to win the World Series! Champions... Bottom line:) CB: I'm ok with Huddy starting. Long career and he deserves the start. As long as mad bum is ready in the pen, all good KK (guy): He should be warming up when Hudson throws his first pitch:) HT: All I can see is first pitch double! ... Gosh I hope he's on it tonight SH (guy): Huddy will bring it tonight, it's the giants bats that need to wake up tonight, mad bum will be there for an inning or two if necessary!!! Let's go faithful!! This is not the lincecum, Cain mad bum era anymore MP: Keep the Faith! |
This WS will be known for it's blowouts. Seems (I'm too lazy to validate) that most games were won by huge margins except for one. Still pulling for SF unless Finnegan appears then we are on his side. LOL baseball is so freaking complicated :)
|
Man hate to see a guy hit like that.
|
Worth it just to see them turn that double play.
|
That wasn't a double play. Even if it was a tie, we know who it goes to. Integrity of the game is gone. Bottom fifth 2 out low 1st strike to Cain, WTF?
We know where the ump has his money. They ought to drug test hunter pense. He's all coked up. |
Bumgarner is getting a generous zone, but he's making the Royals look like a bunch of retards right now.
|
Good for San Fran!
The Royal's fairweather fans didn't deserve a championship..... |
Just couldn't lay off that high fastball.... jeeeez.
That last triple had inside the park HR written all over it. Guy had a fridge strapped to his back... Hats off to SF - coming from a Yankee fan that knows about multiple Championships ;). |

Gee, think Bochy will be in the Hall of Fame? 4 playoff trips, 4 Rings

Agree with you on the strike called on Cain, but that stuff always happens. |
He was out. It was pretty clear. Bad calls on balls & strikes went both ways tonight. This has been a time that I will never forget. I got to go with my boy to a World Series game and the Royals where playing in it. I've been a Royals fan from the day I was born always will be.
|
Great series, a lot better than last year. I love post season baseball & that my wife enjoys it too.
|
That double play was the difference in the whole world series. Amazing play by Panik. Some day when ESPN does a little story on the most important double plays ever turned, that one will be on top of the list, mainly because of how difficult it was.
BTW, using Bumgarner like that is almost unfair. Best WS pitching performance ever. |
Hats off to KC. Thriller to the end. Great series to all.

That's fairweather fans my friend... |
Nice to see the Giants do so much with "so little" in the eyes of the media and most other fans.
They were never picked to even make the post-season. I've been a Giants fan since I was little boy in t-ball. I liked the fact that both SF and KC were Wild Card winners. Quote:

Thank you, KC for putting up a great fight. Best of luck next year. Since the Giants will miss the playoffs next year (That's our tradition) I will be pulling for you. Maybe you can beat the Dodgers for us. Then we'll be back in '16. |
Bumgarner had a great series, and that was a pretty exciting, closely contested game. I watched the first game at my buddy's house, but have not followed baseball at all since they cancelled the season and the World Series because of the strike. I watched a couple of games at home, couple at my parents. That look that Posey gave him while the last pop up was in the air was pretty cool
KC's coach needs to get that thing on his nose biopsied KT, my fist glove in little league was Bobby Bonds signature model. |
By way of celebration for the Giants, but especially for the beauty and heart of the game itself... my favorite piece that says so much... posted this here in 2012... Brandon Crawford's story from kid to Giant... look at that face...

Never followed natl league ball but I am surely a Sandoval fan now. That guy has such good form on defense. No sidearm balls tailing away, beautiful footwork....just great to watch.
Also thought the Posey look to Bumgarner as the popup was cresting was really special to see. Great, great game. Fun series. |
I really can't believe that the Giants beat a very good and hot Royals team. The Giants basically had one starting pitcher. One of their best pitchers Matt Cain was shut down half way through the season. Tim Lincecum was banished to the bullpen and then almost to obscurity. Angel Pagan their lead off hitter was out with a bad back. Buster Posey was a shell of himself at the plate. Joe Pannik was brought up three quarters through the season. How did they do it? Wow....just wow!
|
The Royals may not have won the series, but they sure have made it fun to watch baseball again in the fall!
|
Good fight by the Royals, I was pulling for them the whole way.
Unfortunately their swing at everything young catcher ended up with the game on his shoulders and predictably failed. That guy needs to learn some plate discipline. Personally I can't stand the Giants or Cardinals since I'm a Rangers fan. |
The neighbors we play pinochole with invited us up to watch the seventh; first game we've seen since.......well, this century. wtf with the 'further review'? The game isn't slow enough already?

This was a well pitched, well played series from both dugouts. In the end, the Giants were one run better than the Royals.
I have some friends who went to every game in KC, and they could not stop commenting on how gracious the Royals fans, and the whole city, were. Very classy, like turning the Kaufmann fountains orange last night, who does that anymore? You guys have the nucleus to be very good for a long time...enjoy! A couple of asides, Who was the dude that showed up to every game with behind the plate tickets...in Marlins gear? Kc has some hot female fans. Joe Panik solidified the Giants lineup and overall was one of the biggest reasons for their success. 5 months till spring training. |
my wife googled 'marlins guy'. well documented. basically a rich guy from fla that loves big sporting events.
|
Ahh, okay that makes sense.
As to the "further review", that is a step MLB is taking to improve the game. It is a first year deal, and it helped get calls right all year. Tedious, yes, but as with all things they will find ways to improve the process. Now if they would use it for balls and strikes... |
I haven't been a big baseball fan for years, but I have to say, this was a fun series. I am impressed with how the players comport themselves. Every time a football player manages to do something right they celebrate like it was new years eve. It's childish and tiresome to watch. I've about quit on the NFL, but I could watch players who behave like pros (like these guys) play on a regular basis.
|
I would have liked to see the 3rd base coach send Gordon home on the triple in the ninth. It looked like he would have been out but the giants needed to execute the relay and tag. I might have rolled the dice given Madbum on the mound.
When they brought in Madbum I thought it was a mistake but he performed great. Congrats to the Giants and I prefer no DH rule. |
+1 on no DH, make the pitcher hit, and the manager manage.
|
It is definitely a much better game without the DH

Childish is being kind. I pretty much have given up on football due to this. It's gotten so the only differences between an NFL game and the Ferguson riots is the uniforms and the bank accounts of the participants. Else it's just a bunch of idiots acting like morons who can't handle themselves. By contrast our own Nelson Cruz manages a huge game turning RBI in the playoffs and after getting on base he claps his hands twice and then focuses on the pitcher as he takes his lead. football has zero class left. it's a shame for those in the league that aren't morons. |
