Remember these things?

If you had one, would it still work? Meaning, is the RIMM services that supported these pagers still running?

We had a system here that reported earthquakes and displayed the location on a map (old computer and CRT). The data came in via a pager, it finally stopped working. We presume because the pager system stopped broadcasting.
Next bet to go buh-bye is the old paper seismograph drum that gets signal over a land line.

That's was on of the things keeping blackberry/RIM going for so long. Govt work in secure spaces.

My pager, back in the day wasn't a Blackberry, but allowed the boss to reach out at any time.

I was speaking with a manager of a restaurant one day when my pager vibrated. I checked it and she asked how I knew I had a message. I turned it off, then turned it back on again and held it against her wrist so she would feel the vibration and understand how it alerted me. She became very excited and called to a friend of hers,"Come here! You've got to see this!"
Then she turned to me and said,"Show her your thing and let her feel it!"

I finally had to give my Curve up 3 weeks ago. It's been replaced with a low-power Galaxy S4 (I don't know if it's a custom build or what). The camera is disabled as well.

I miss the Curve. It was tiny, and much faster to type on. RIM really shot themselves in the foot with phasing out support for their core product. Idiots.
