TMobile... oh lawdy
Customer service is bar none, the worst of any company that I have every talked to. I TRIED to signup for service today, so I can get international data roaming. After 2 hours, 5 hangups, talking to 15 people I can't understand, I finally gave up. Now, on to disputing charges made to my credit card. What year is this? Where am I?
Love my Cricket!

That's why we cancelled them. We wouldn't get a bill for two months and then we'd get a massive bill with late fees and a cancellation notice. Supposedly there was an input error of some sort when our account was set up, but none of the morons could fix it. Drove my accountant wife insane, she finally had a full on meltdown after umpteen phone calls to them. Never again will they get my business.

Give ATT a call.....after 45 minutes listening to all of your recorded options and 30 minutes talking to some hot chick in India she drops your call, end of story.

Used to have Cricket and was happy with them. Switched to Straight Talk from Wally World, have better reception and service area now. Straight Talk uses all of the major networks.

I thought they were Verizon or ATT, depending on the radio model in your phone?

I'm with Sprint and it's gold-plated service compared to what is being described here. A couple minutes of auto menu and I'm talking to a real person. Billing is consistent and I have basically unlimited everything on an iPhone.
They are not perfect but when I read or hear about other people's carriers, I'm grateful. |

Sprint was the worst of the worst. Never again!
Memorable moments: When they acquired Nextel, our company was getting identical double billed from both Nextel and Sprint. This went on for THREE MONTHS! Impossible you say? Hours wasted in a day trying to get them to resolve it. Customer service didn't even know they merged. Total brain damaged supervisor at Sprint. Gets better. Their printed brochure / map showing service in our major metro indicated solid service. But funny we had the poorest to none. I verified with other people and businesses in the same area. Major complaints. Had a Sprint rep come out. His phone wouldn't work. Phones went to the dumpster. Canceled all contracts with them which elevated the frustration of ACCOMPLISHING this with moron's at SPRINT to a new high. NEVER AGAIN.

I thought they were a part of TracFone. Not sure who own TracFone. All I know is that it is $45. plus tax a month for unlimited talk and text. Keeps my kids and wife happy. If you don't like any of their phones, you can purchase their sim cards at wally world to run your own phone depending on the model.

I had Sprint for a few years and their coverage was awful here in San Diego. Agree with Richard that outside major city centers Sprint phones become paper weights. When I closed my account I told the customer retention lady, no offense, but even if their service was FREE I still didn't want it. Phones in the dumpster.
I have since used Verizon and ATT. No complaints with either though Verizon has much better coverage. |

Well, I am at home in Los Angeles most of the time but I drive x-country sometimes and my phone works most places. There are some dead spots out in the wilderness. Usually I'm in cities and it's fine.
It's amazing to me that in 2014, there are still so many dead spots of coverage for cell phones. I have several friends whose phones do not work at their houses in the local hills or Malibu. It seems like coverage is worse in the wealthier parts of L.A., maybe because these people cannot be bribed to install a receiver on their property(?) |

Was sprint nearly 15 years. They pulled so much dumb s*#t and had lousy customer service over those years but they could not be beat on price. Finally I got fed up and switched to TMobile. Other than talking to them to get service setup I have had zero reason to talk to them since so I have no idea what their customer service is like. That said I couldn't be happier with the service or the price and they ported my existing numbers over fast and with out issue.

https://www.cricketwireless.com/ I have only used a flip phone for cellular service through the years which has served my purpose just fine but have been thinking about upgrading at some point. Currently I am with Virgin Mobile which runs about $30./month. Will look into this Cricket - thanks!

We are trapped with T-Mobile until our daughter graduates college (too much trouble and money to move her T-Mobile iPhone).
Don't know what happened to T-Mobile, I have been with them for 8 or 10 years and they were the best back then. Not even an automated menu just call and talk to a real person... and they could do things! A couple taps on their computer while they were on the phone with you and they could change you plan, they would actually go out of their way and recommend ways for you to save money... today? Not so much. As soon as daughter gets her own phone and plan we are dumping T-Mobile and moving to a prepaid plan (boost), technically T-Mobile is now a no-contract provider.

Ting here. As a minimal user, I pay $33 a month for TWO smart phones. They use Sprint's network, but I couldn't justify paying $100 a month to Verizon and only using a fraction of the allotted minutes, texts, and data each month.

So, I ordered another SIM from them over a week ago. I need it for our trip to Europe. Nothing. Nada. They can't even put a SIM in the mail. So tomorrow, I get to take a cab from JFK airport to a Tmobile store and try my luck there. Wonderful company.

Richard,
When you get to airport in France, just go to a Tabac and get a prepaid sim. i paid 10 euros and got tons of airtime and free3G internet which was adequate. I can give you the name tomorrow. Phone has to be unlocked though.
