Calling Widebody and Bus Experts

Had a '67 21 window and a '65 Sundial. Miss them but I'm not willing to spend the dough to get back in to that market. I stumbled across this one in So Cal and they are willing to sell.

What would you offer? Or would you just stay away? Starts immediately, runs strong, can't find first gear, drives great, brakes are good. I think this was a pop top camper but was hoping it was a sunroof model? No rust anywhere I can find. Has some sort of hard plastic cover on roof. No leaks. Needs entire new interior panels etc. Can the hole from the pop top be eliminated? Can pop-tops be sourced? Any info would be appreciated!!!

Looks like it used to be a camper. It definitely has some issues.

TheSamba is broken right now, so I can't check for comps.

This one needs a lot of love, and should be priced accordingly.

Offer? Poor guy that owned it had a stroke. Wife wants it gone - he had hoped to get it going again. I want to be fair the seller but have to have some room for profit.

A couple grand or so?

You should be able to find a poptop fairly easily, but it probably won't be cheep; same goes for the rest of the interior. Figure a few hundred to deal with the transmission issue, clutch, and all that stuff. And a rear bumper.

Do you think it was a Westy? How does one find out?

I'm guessing it was, based on the remnants of the interior, the hole in the rood, and the slatted windows.
