I am going to guess Farrari wanted to distance it self from two kinds of bad cars?

Now thats funnny !
If they go back to making cars like the old spider 124, the 850, Fiasta, all with no reliability , Oh wait, they all ready did ! They have regressed to that already .
If i was Ferrari I would ditch them too as they have enough problems.

But you still need an invitation to buy one, and oil is still 45 dollar a quart!

Sounds like spin off was Fiat's idea. Ferrari head was fired, reports suggest he opposed the spin off. P

I give Ferrari 5 years on its own, tops.

That is, unless it gets a cash infusion or acquired by someone else. Wouldn't it be ironic if Ford bought them?

As long as it allows Fiat to stay in business and continue making Fiat 500s, I'm all for it.

OK, can I buy stock in the new Ferrari company?

It would be cool to own a few shares.

Hay I had a Great and a Bad and Great experience today at FIAT !!
*The Bad - Rear wheel bearings (BNG ) have been growling, * 42,000 miles on the car ! *, Got to the point I could not stand the noise, called Monday they said bring in thur .
If wheel bng they would over night them in.
Great.
OK, the car will be at dealer over night and is 100 miles away.
*The Great- , Dropped car off today, they had wheel bng in stock, they replaced both left and right.
All in a hour !
That was good !
* The BAD VWY very VWY very BAD --
Under the process of fixing wheel bng they call me and tell me the rear brakes are shot !
Really?
I said thats funny " You just replaced them . The calipers the rotors, pads last year! Under warranty !"
I said if they were bad I will fix them. leave them alone."
So I pick up the car , I looked carefully at the pads and rotors, NOTHING WRONG NOT DAM thing !
There is all sorts of material on the pads and they said the calipers were about ready to grind into the rotors.
Now please do NOT tell me to call Fiat of America as I have been dwn that road, they dont care.
Every time I have a problem it becomes something else with them.
Bng Failure at 40 K is not at all permissible, but they gleefully fixed them.(thats good)
Why is /was it fiat is made so crapy ?
Next the upsell. That was not HONEST. Was next to thievery .
Shame shame on them.
Is too bad this could be a great little car.................its the support package that sucks so bad!

Considering it's history Ferrari will always be around but I suspect you're right.

A cashed up company will probably "acquire" them at some point.
