Double barrel weapon for deer season.

Heading up to deer camp on Thursday. I have acquired the weapon shown below. Although both the barrel lengths and bores differ, I seem to get positive feedback from my fellow hunters about its effectiveness.

Those look like old Damascus barrels, not fit for deer camp...not able to handle modern "shot", strictly wall hangers.

I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt so I'll find a wall here at the farm for both.

My blind is a mile off the road. I may not even be able to get to it! I think there is an old snowmachine at the cabin where we are staying, but we shall see.

Given how harsh last years winter was, I have zero expectations of getting a deer. Pinning my hopes on the OH season in December.

Its an honor to be taking my step-grandfather, Jack, to deer camp. He is 90 years old. He fought in Normandy and was injured by a shell. Spent months in the hospital.

Came home to America, got married and put himself through college. He went on to become a teacher, and eventually the mayor of his town. He had 4 children, all college educated, 2 of which are doctors. He still skis, and raced in Nastar races into his 80s.

Just a few years ago, he took a deer. He still hunts with the same break action, single shot .30-30 he's used for decades.
