I've had a lot of fun racing against this guy at Laguna Seca. Out dragged me on the straights, but the evil cockroach got by him after a few laps and pulled away
That's Team Starfish, the only one that I know of that races in the US.

In my research over the past few months I regularly come across the gold Lemons car. I would love to enter an early Valiant or similar in that event!

The Goodwood Revival had 2 Barracuda's racing this year, the silver one has been around for a while and was even driven by the Ex F1 driver Luizzi for a win at Goodwood a few years back.

The engine is finished and on its way.. the little 273 made a comfortable 470hp at 8500rpm.

No particular order & you are spared my verbiage.
Suffice it to say there was about 8-9 months of an old fart laying on the cold concrete floor.
Hate to go OT but what can you tell me about the steering?

Wow, that seems like alot of power for a small, small block, but I guess if you can twist it to 8500 RPM, it's built very well. Really would like to see pics of progress.

That's a screamer! Sounds like a lot of fun. I love the 1st gen 'Cuda, greatly preferred over it's successor. Your approach is spot on perfect.

It's been a while since I updated this thread..

We are about a week away from finishing. Only a bit of wiring and some hoses to go.
After about a year I cant wait to hear this thing, let alone drive it.

I love old Mopar,
Back in HS I drove a 67 Newport convertable, the old B block threw a rod so I ended up dropping a 68 RB in it, It handled like an ox cart, it stopped like a bowling ball but there wasn't much around that could pass it on the highway, a real shine runner. I kept that car until I bought the 911 and only having a single car garage it had to go. I gave it to a guy who restores old 300 convertables and she once again lives and terrorizes the highway.

The one car I wish I had kept from my youth was a Mopar....1968 Dodge Dart GTS with a perfect body, but some mechanical issues. It had a crate 340 and 727 trans, it was Orange with a black stripe across the trunk, and sounded mean.

Well, the car is pretty much done.
I'm very happy with the way it turned out. The little 273 is very angry and although it's 12:1, it runs fine on our pump gas in Australia. I can't wait to get it out on the track!

.Porsche has around 6 deg positive caster. Mustangs have 0-1 deg positive......not cheep to fix.
I would like to understand more about how 60s muscle was fundamentally different than BMW/Porsche cars. At least, beyond "They're heavy, and only are good in a straight line".

What are the pros/cons of this caster setting? If 911's handle so well, and have +6, why didn't Detroit do the same thing? Is there a downside to +6 that Detroit intentionally avoided? I'm guessing there is a trade off ?

That car is outstanding. It caused me to search for something similar simply because it is so cool. I really can't get it out of my head. Congrats!

Bought a 67 Barracuda Formula S Fastback, 383 4bbl, Torqueflite new off the showroom floor in 1967.
Gold its black interior. Loved that car , thanks for the memories. Most of the earlier Barracudas were slant sixes, as I recall....
Your resurrection is awesome, wish you were closer, or wish I was..

I was at a vintage race a couple years ago. Listening to a Mustang running thru the gears on the front straight........they didn't pull those RPMs back in the day. 7-7.5K was about it....not 8.5-9K. Vintage?....right.
