Tragedy of dysfunctional people breeding more dysfunctional people...
Played gold last weekend with my buddy who runs the Point Hueme Naval Golf Station(North of LA).
His wife(whom is one of the scariest people in terms of stupidity I have ever met) recently schemed her grandson(friends step grandson) to come and live with them. 21 Years old...a drunk AND a heroin addict...and he just had a BABY(who's mother and child is now living off the taxpayers dime)!...disengaged from that after a few months to someone who he was not married to, and now has a new GF. NO job...no skill set...incredibly irresponsible to make a baby and run away, and the "man" like a dog returning to it's own vomit is right back to doing what he does best: nothing but looking for a handout, as he can't even muster a crappy job to chip in for rent(or food, etc). I wonder if in some ways, "Feminism" was/is a failed paradigm, as the family unit in America became shattered when woman abandoned the home and family to become slaves to a company/corporation while latch-key kids were raised on child-care, Pepsi, TV dinners and a boob-tube for "direction" and values. Yes, we've come a LONG WAY Baby!

I agree with everything you say, it's a travestry that people like this have been enabled to do this by well meaning givers. This kid will never find his feet unless someone kicks him out on his azz.

G'day!

I know someone who works as a day laborer in this area. Mostly in the field of landscaping. He's in his mid 30's. Already has 2 young boys who live with their mother's parents about 250 miles away. Now...he just had TWINS from another girl....someone who is not even a girlfriend, let alone wife. This kid doesn't have a pot to piss in. Yet he's breeding.
Spay & neuter....it's not just for dogs and cats!

Things were better in the fifties and sixties before the feminist "revolution" for sure. Things really are different though and it's hard to assess how much any one thing can be faulted.
I'm sad for the future, not excited.

There were a lot of frustrated women who would disagree with you. Stuck in abusive relationships, unable to get a job making decent money, one cookie cutter lifestyle for everyone - I think things are better now. It's not like there weren't deadbeat kids in the 50s and 60s.

I fail to see the connection between feminism and the travails of todays' slackers. We've always had slackers in this society , always will. The advent of "feminism" as used by the OP may well have had roots in the failure of those slackers forcing women to fend for themselves and their children.

I don't think it's women working that's the problem, I think it's consumer culture that's the problem. We live very materialistic lives, we want the things we see on TV, so both parents have to work to be able to afford that lifestyle. If we appreciated the things in life that don't cost money, we wouldn't need to have 2-person incomes in every household. It's perfectly affordable to live on one income, so long as one person has a decent job.

Men aren't good at rearing kids. Women do a better job, and kids are horrible at it. I'm speaking generally of course.
Some dads are great, some women suck at it etc..

We have always had slacker/losers. Women just were not so quick to breed with them before the welfare state began to take care of her every need..

As to feminism being a problem? From the time our now 45 YO daughter was old enough to understand we taught her that to depend on a man for her financial security was to invite poverty and worse. We have taught our granddaughters the same... be prepared to take care of your self. How many millions of stay-at-home women have been left in the lurch and in poverty trying to raise kids when the man decided to move on for whatever reason... Just being pragmatic..... As to the 50's and 60's of Ozzie and Harriet and the Beaver, And Andy Griffith? That world exist didn't exist for millions of Americans.

Why do women sleep with men like the OP described? I don't get it.

i thought the idea of the civil rights movement was that blacks and other minorities could join whites in the stable two parent hard working father know's best lifestyle. finally participate as equals in the american dream. because that's the model that works. instead we got all this marxist hippie **** and a complete breakdown of the family.

As to why some women will sleep and live with a low life, I wish could answer that. Perhaps then I could understand my adopted daughter. She is in her mid-twenties and is trying to raise a baby with loser number four in her life.
If any of you think this is a new phenominon, you are looking at the past through rose colored glasses or an abridged version of history. A desk which has been passed down through my family has a story that came with it, of a young woman who bore a child out of wedlock and a man who left the community, about 125 years ago. People have always been people, sometimes foolish, sometimes irresponsible, but the social safety-net does make it easier for them to get buy. If any of you figure it out, PM me. Best Les

Maybe it has something to do with some women having low self-esteem from being objectified, judged more on their looks than men, and getting paid less than men for equivalent work (still).
