Hot roddin' with a good friend

Took one of my pals out driving one day last week, he has his own Hot rod ,37 Ford
which is in storage but he himself is fighting some sort of brain cancer so the treat was on me. We're all hoping for the best possible outcome of course, but he's having a tough time. So, we had a nice day he and I. I wont soon forget it.

A few years ago, I loaned my hotrod 930 slantnose to a friend and his brother who had ALS. This was a very memorable day for my friend and the background on his work computer is still a photo of his brother in my car.

His brother later succumbed to ALS but was a Porsche fan most of his life.

Dale was all worried that they might have broke something because they hit the fuel cut at 1.1 bars... I'm glad they enjoyed themselves and would happily do it over again.

Yesterday on the the way to Wayne's C&C. Almost bit the big one.

Friend and Pelican poster was driving my 911 and lost it in a curve when wet....left, right, left, right. Smell of burning tires.....stared at the K rail and an SUV from 6 inches away. Big brown spot on the seat and said my prayers......Oi!

Dogs in the back, not a peep.....

Damn. Still miss the guy. As I get older, there seem to be more buddies in the rear view mirror than in the windshield. I guess it eventually gets that way for all of us. I don't want to be the last man standing... life can be so hard...
