Not another one.......if I see one more video about his garage or his car my head will explode! He must send emails to all the print and online magazines suggesting they use his car or garage as content.

Jack, Jack's car, and Jack's garage kick ass. I like reading about them or watching them.

OK but Jack's car and garage are cool and he epitomizes the best DIY aspects of 911 ownership IMO.

That is... "Minimum outlay for maximum return"

And when it comes time to sell out 911 you should get most if not all of your money back (including mods and repairs)
and depending on the year you can even make a profit.

Enthusiasts like Jack have contributed to this phenomenon in a positive way.
Even the "Singer 911" although a late starter has helped.

This is worth mentioning on it's own.
That car is in full scale production which surprised me. I thought it was more concept than anything else.

Pretty soon you'll be able to pick up the most desirable Hybrid going second hand.

Yea, I think it will have to be a used one. I believe all 918 of the new ones are sold.

Jack's work on his car and garage are inspiring to all of us. About the Porsche 918 Spyder video, now I want to get me one of these.

A minute 26.88 at Willow is a damn fine time on what is essentially a street machine. Well setup and well driven. Thanks for the share, enjoyed that!

I am confused.

Is he focused on creating the best lap time with that particular car, or just creating the best lap time? If the latter, wouldn't it make more sense to just buy a modern car that has 2x the HP?

I am impressed at the perseverance,
but it reminds me there is a fine line between passion and OCD!

1.26.88 is a VERY good time for a car driven to the track and back. Jack's car has a 3.6, is stripped of weight, has full-track suspension, serious aero downforce with leading edge rear wing and front splitter. If he was to race that car in it's GT class with the Porsche Owners Club, he'd probably fit somewhere in GT2. The GT2 cup race winner's fastest time at the Dec Willow race was a low 1:27. Now, a hot lap at a rent-a-track event will be faster than a cup race lap, but he'd still be very competitive.

My point…After almost a decade of going around in circles, when the hell is he going to go to real racing?????

+1

I can really appreciate how JO comes up with cost-effective solutions, rather than just writing big checks. His front and rear aero for $80 is totally kick a$$!

His aero really is ingenious. Last I saw him at a track, he was putting it all on and off at the track, hauling it with him. He has figured out a great solution to a competitive track car where truck and trailer storage/ownership is not a convenient option.

He is fast and smooth, and I've also heard he's a great instructor. I'd like to see him out kicking the asses of those arrive-and-drive big $$$ 996 GTC and 996 GT3 race-conversion cars in GT2 Class races. I think he could do it.

I thought Jack raced or used to race SCCA?

I remember doing a track day on my Aprilia 250 back in 2002, after not racing for 10 years. I thought I'd just do track days, but I only lasted the one track day before stripping the bike down to nothing and race-prepping it, LOL. I love the feeling of beating other people on the track.

Me too. I'm good for about three laps at a DE or open track day before I get bored. My excitement is the guy I'm trying to pass and the SOB in my rearview mirror.
