We have a McDonalds about a mile up the road as well as a Waffle House and a Burger King as well as a couple of sit down local places. I've bought a few $1 chicken sandwiches at the McDs... and the apple pies aren't bad. I guess I've been two or three times a year for the last ten years. About the same as the WH and the BK.
Culvers is pretty good... we just recently had a few open here in SC. Chicfila would have to be my fast food place... slightly higher but cleaner, friendlier staff and good food. I was in the local Dairy Queen the other day... second time I've been there in a year, the last time I said I wasn't going back... and noticed a sign that Warren Buffett owned DQ. My service was better this time but the last time was horrible... slow, crappy food, and a dirty restaurant. I was shocked to learn he owned the joint. |

Haven't been in a McDonald's since my daughter and I got food poisoning after eating there 11 years ago. Luckily my wife refused to eat anything and was fine. I have to give her that one, she was right.

I have no beef with McDonalds. If I want fast food then in my mind it is the fastest preparer of fast foods I know. Quicker than DQ, Wendys or Tim Hortons.
In summer before I go golfing with an early t time I stop at McD's and get an Egg McMuffin or scrambled eggs , pancakes and coffee. Occasional 1/4 pounder is great. I would not want a steady diet of fast food but once in a while it is great. Guy |

If I was going to die I would have done so by now! I took out $200,000 can in life insurance two years ago so according to actuarial tables the insurance co is pretty safe that I(?) or my beneficiary won't claim in the 10 year life of this policy. So I am good to go. Perhaps I should rephrase this last sentence....

My first job was Mickey D's in the 70s. Had a forged work permit. I was 14 1/2. $1.35 and hour. Glendale CA. I was rich, had my first car inside of 18 months, a 1957 split window ragtop bug. I was the schizzle.
The meat was fresh, patties made on site, as were the French fries. Food was tasty. I don't recognize the dreck they sell today. The burgers are dry and salty. Blech! |

My mommy worked at the local school district. While it WAS forged it was all correct. Only the DOB year was backdated.
I had to rebuild the engine, fried valve. Looked around and found a 1600 dual port. Did the CA Look style, lowered and chrome wide fives, no hubcaps. |
