Joe Cocker Died

DIed today at age 70.
Loved that guys music.

Wow. I first saw him on SNL back in the 70's and he was one strange guy. But he was himself, and his music was off the wall.

That was John Belushi ripping on Joe Cocker.

There's already a thread on this.

Belushi did a great impression of Cocker as NC points out.
They sang together on SNL also.

No one else could cover a Beatles song like JC. We lost one of the greats today.

Man, time is flyin!

creaturecat 12-22-2014 03:02 PM

That was a great 8 minutes and 6 seconds. Woodstock.

For a man who never wrote a song, he sure did make a lot of music his very own.

I liked his voice and music from the very beginning, others had to grow on me.
Keep your Hat ON was a favorite of mine and the hot girl I was hanging with at the time.

aigel 12-23-2014 02:22 PM

Rip

I listened to him when I was a teen - during his comeback in the 80s - saw him live in 87 in a small venue. Amazing. I still see him in front of me ... RIP Joe - and thanks for the great music.

"Many Rivers to Cross" - wow. May be my new favorite.
His version of "Sail Away" was well sung, but he really fuched up the lyrics.
