Smile Looking ahead to the 2014 PPOT Gift Exchange...

I know that it is almost 2 months to Xmas. I would be more than happy to administrate it again this year. If no challengers to me doing it again then I need your input.

What should be the maximum $$ amount spent?

I believe in sending gifts early so as to ensure that the gifts arrive before Xmas.

I think that if you get the same giftee within 2 years then you can request another one.

Specific giftee requests are discouraged.

If anybody else wants to replace me as gift adminstrator feel free and I do welcome any suggestions on improving it- speak freely.

Cheers, Guy

Just a suggestion:
How about if we feed the hungry or an help an "angel tree" child? I'd gladly give up getting more stuff. Or, let's pool our money and make a donation to a worthy cause?

That's a different thing. The spirit of the PPOT gift exchange was to give something (an object) that you already had at home. You weren't supposed to o out an buy something. It was not about the dollar value of the item, necessarily. The only financial requirement was that it was supposed to be $$ reasonable to send (so no shipping someone a spare motor or transmission, for example).

Organizing a charity (great idea) would be different than the PPOT x-mas gift x-change. Not sure a charity would want old crap from our collective PPOT closets and basements.

or some cool electrical connectors from your tool box

The spirit of this is to send something you already have. Possibly with a Porsche reference or targeting someone's interests known from the board. It can be a white elephant, something funny or or something useful.

Let us know when you are ready! I'm game!

I'm in. I received a whole box of assorted items last year. Some of the items were quite hilarious. Especially the box it shipped in. Thanks Redbeard!
