Police: Couple accused of shoplifting in Lauderdale Lakes’ Walmart didn’t mention the

.........didn’t mention they had 3 kids in the car

For nearly seven hours three small children sat in the back of a car waiting for their mother and her boyfriend to come out of a Lauderdale Lakes Walmart.

But they never came.

Instead, the pair had been arrested on charges of shoplifting, and they had failed to mention that they had kids in the car, police said.

It wasn't until a customer alerted staff that the kids were alone in the car and crying before anyone realized they were there.

During a court hearing on the theft charges, Hope told the judge she was expecting.

“I have three small children and I’m currently pregnant,” said Hope.

Both she and Moultrie were released on their own recognizance and told not to go back to Walmart.

The children are staying with relatives and the department of children and families is investigating the incident

In addition to grand theft, Hope and Moultrie will face new charges for child neglect.

Leaving jail hope denied she is a bad mother

“You are going off of hearsay” she told reporters

How about making the kids accomplices?

Years ago, I took over managing another territory and the product demonstration person for the area was the previous manager's niece. No big deal. I had met her and she seemed to know what she was doing.
One day I got a call from the grocery store in the mall, advising me this person was barred from their premises. For more information I should contact Ms' So-and-so. I did. Ms. So-and-so was the Loss Prevention Manager for the mall and she advised me my sometimes employee had been observed removing product from the shelves and giving it to her 8 or 9 year old daughter to hide on her person, then attempted to leave the store. They were watching her because they figured she had pulled this one before.
I thanked the LPM and wished my ex employee the best with the criminal charges.

Apparently this was recreation for this woman.

Sadly shaking my head.

What has me shaking my head is....at the time of the couple's arraignment on the shoplifting charges......the child neglect charges had not yet shown up in the system. So the judge released the woman.

Our judicial system is so bogged down with bureaucracy....essentially justice is compromised......and the ones who suffer are the innocents.

+1. Bogged down with bureaucracy, misplaced priorities, money, politics, and incompetence.

Because no matter how many crimes she commits, she can always have more kids and the government will pay her for them.

There really is some crazy stuff going on down there. My daughter works at Disney so I sort of keep one eye on the Florida news. Some of the stuff (like the one Paul just posted ) is mindboggling. Living an hour from Detroit, I'm used to good old fashion gangland murders and such on a daily basis, but the criminals in Florida are just batsch!t crazy.

I've also got the WESH News Mugshots: The Week in Review bookmarked. Good entertainment.
