So , Guy ( recycled sixtie) made a real nice thread, asking for help for our family a few months back to help us through the holidays. As some of you know, our daughter was diagnosed with AML Lukemia at 4 months old last Febuary.
Just before the holidays, we started to get cards, gifts, and checks from many of you . Sid also handled a lot of donations, through his Pay pal account, funneled the monies through his personal account, and sent us a sizeable check. Thanks a ton for handling that Sid. You are a good guy , and I owe you one.
To say I am thankful , would be an understatement. I feel lucky, and honored to be a part of this little community here, and cannot begin to describe how thankful I am to be touched by all of you. I really, honestly appreciate the gesture and cannot thank you guys enough.
We are not the kind of people to ask for help, and I honestly feel somewhat uncomfortable taking it, but I know you all want to help and it is appreciated.
After 10 months of intensive chemo, and a relapse, we were heading for a marrow transplant, and things were going well, but unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse, and she will not be making it to transplant. She got a line infection, and had some other complications that delayed the transplant, and in that time, the lukemia came back at a very aggressive rate, and there are really no other options for her.
We found all this out, just as the cards, gifts, letters, and checks started rolling in from all of you, and as much as I wanted to extend my thanks , I just honestly could not put words into text , I tried a few times, and just got frustrated.
Any how, just wanted to publicly say thank you to all of you for your help, gifts and words of kindness. I saved everything , and will try to contact all of you personally as time allows over the next few weeks, but wanted you all to know that I was touched by your gesture of good will, and we were really surprised and thankful . Really a great group of people. I promise to pass it on .
