I'd move on with my life ... I don't want something where the seller feels ripped off.

I'd be inclined to negotiate with the seller. The last thing I need is the feeling that I "pinched" something.
(is the book worth $20 to you?) Yea sure he should have put a reserve on it but he didn't. At least the seller is being honest. Most people would probably pretend they sent it.

1) Those are not worth the same as a signed Mick Foley book. 2) This is the guys MO and he does it intentionally. Considering he has sold several items I'm not buying he's a newb and I'm inclined to think it's option 2. Either way at this point I would not go through with the purchase for any amount other than what won you the item. How do you know the signature is even real? Looking at auctions for Mick Foley autographed merchandise on eBay it looks like Mick has 50 different signatures. ![]()

So basically, this guy has a reserve, but doesn't want to pay the fee if his item doesn't sell, so he pulls this crap when it sells for a low price. So basically, he's trying to cheat/steal from eBay? I bet they'd be interested to hear about that. Screw him, he's a dirtbag.

Ask him to honor the auction and the price. If not, then report him to e-bay. He is gaming you--if he thought the book was worth more, he should have placed a reserve or started the auction at a higher price.
Now if it was a signed Ivan Putski, Tommy "Wildfire" Rich or Bruno Sanmartino book, then it would be a different story ![]()

It was a no reserve auction. He could have put a $20 reserve on the book, he chose not to.
He owes you the book for $2.25. Don't pay more. If you really want the book tell him to ship it as per the eBay policy. Otherwise just tell him to refund you and move on. Nothing Mick Foley ever wrote is worth a big hassle.

I've bought a number of first edition or hardback books by real authors for ~$10 in used book stores. $2.25 for a signed book about wrestling seems about right.
Have you looked on amazon for a comparable autographed edition for sale?

It's like when people used to game the listing fee system by offering expensive "Buy it Now" items for pennies on the dollar but charged exorbitant shipping rates to make up the difference. While the consumer possibly still got a deal eBay got screwed.
