There are much better looking women doing upholstery now, than in the old days. Perhaps I should put in an application to work there. |

Desirable... :)

In @2003, was working at a 'exotic' indie car sales/ service in the Northern VA area. Everything from muscle cars, European, you name it. We had many high-profile clients ( in this area). One of them wanted to trade a couple of cars from his fleet, on a nice Ferrari 308 we had. One of the trades was an exact replica of a Countach. I mean, exact right down to the emblems. But this one had a 400 long rod SBC, coupled to a ZF 5- speed transaxle. The car was @95% done needing tuning, adjusting, aligning, etc.
1st one I ever sat in, drove, or seen in person. Even I could not believe how cheap, uncomfortable, offset pedal position, etc, etc. I think an 80's Fiat had a nicer looking dash......... |

I haven’t seen a replica of anything that I would own, and that includes some by some famous makers… |

The early Countach production line was very different than the line where the rest of the cars were made. That original production line was fairly conventional, if a little slower.
The Countach was different, in that they were all hand built. So, they had more of a production area than line. The major body panels were all pressings that they had someone else make but they were all hand fitted. |
Countach video that's enjoyable...movie scenes..short video

In my above post, when I say exact replica, I mean exact in every way inside / out. The manufacturer was sued several times by Lamborghini as some of the trim, badges, etc was sourced from them. They eventually folded.
|
Who was the manufacturer? Which version did they emulate? There were, broadly speaking, three different versions of the chassis and interior.
|
^^^ I don't remember. The dealer I worked for had a really odd cast of characters. One was a very knowledgeable sales guy that had a lot of connections, he was on 1099, also had his own thing on the side. He was the guy in the trade-in deal and knew the Lamborghini kit manufacturer. He was the one who told me all about it, all the details.
It was bright white with the spoilers, black interior, all tube chassis. |
