Here's another cheap shot by a very skilled player - literally skated up to the opponent and punched the oher player in the back of the head (but no call at all!) The announcers calling the game flipped out that no whistle was blown.

Let me help you out. The All Star with 50 points in 37 games played. 21 goals so far. +24 points. He has a Stanley Cup ring and Olympic gold medal. In a league that has been dominated by big bodies and fast players, he is 5'9" and not all that fast. A player that everyone loves to hate unless he is on their team. Unfortunately he has a rap sheet and needs to get past his bad habits.

Bettmans reason was in service to the owners but I have no problem with it. The Olympics is supposed to be for amateurs. I couldn't care less about Russia cheating with their army team. Why should a pro get to push out a college kid? Would Lake Placid 1980 have been as thrilling if it was the NHL beating the Soviets? Not for me.

Unless you are totally clueless about the game of hockey, you understand that frustration boils over and fights happen. Sometimes it is to rally the losing team to get back in the game. Sometimes it is a reaction to the gloating. Sometimes it is just anger that your team is doing poorly.

Quit your whining and get over it. You got a beef with the guy? You make a note to have a "conversation" the next time your teams play each other. I give props to March for taking one for the team. To me that is a plus.
