Would you drive a Speed Yellow Boxster?

Found a really good deal on a 2005 but my son and buddies are already giving me grief about the color and it being a Boxster. I don't really care, but is there really that much stigma attached to a Boxster? Heck, it ain't a Miata....haha

Oh Haha 02-02-2015 01:49 PM

I wouldn't drive a yellow car but I like to drive "under" the radar, so to speak.

That being said, if it's a good deal so what? Give the naysayers a SnG ride and they will be quiet.

No. However, there are a few cars I'd be willing to spin in yellow, but a Boxster is not one of them. Here in Raleigh, there was once a stunning "paint to sample" Ferrari Fly Yellow 993 2S, which was to die for. Also like the Land Rover Defender 90 in Yellow (not my first color choice though), and of course my all time fave Ferrari 250 GT SWB looks killer in yellow.

Speed Yellow is my favorite color on the Boxster

I would drive a speed yellow Boxster or yellow Miata. Heck yes. I would draw the line at pink though. The brighter the colour the easier it is to be noticed.
Guy.

flipper35 02-02-2015 01:59 PM

I would. Then again, I like yellow.

Vipergrün 02-02-2015 02:06 PM

Here is the car in question;

Like it.

Craig T 02-02-2015 02:17 PM

I like yellow cars. Go for it. If they call it a girls car, take them out on the track and make them sick. That'll shut them up!

Rusty914s 02-02-2015 02:18 PM

Absolutely, great looking car.

pors1968 02-02-2015 02:24 PM

That the only color i would buy a boxster.

Noah930 02-02-2015 02:25 PM

There are 7 million Arctic Silver, Seal Grey, & Polar White Boxsters in LA. Go for the Speed Yellow!

dad911 02-02-2015 02:27 PM

Used to race one. My '99 turned spec-racer was yellow.

You can rub it in their faces when they ask to drive it after you buy it.

Shaun @ Tru6 02-02-2015 02:29 PM

After you test drove it and walked away, did you look back? Car pictured looks really good, so yes. But I'm biased, Signal Yellow is in my top 3 911 colors.

PorscheGAL 02-02-2015 02:36 PM

I say go for it. Of course, I like the unusual.

If they want you to have a different color, they are welcome to buy you one of their choosing. Otherwise, they should buckle up and enjoy the ride from the passenger seat.

porsche4life 02-02-2015 02:43 PM

Hell yes! Like many others yellow is one of my top picks on that car. Looks damn good!

How old is your son? Take him for a ride in the car, a good one. I think he'll change his tune.

Tell your buddies that only guys with huge dicks can drive bright yellow boxsters which is why you can understand why they wouldn't want to drive them.

I would have liked a yellow Boxster or Cayman, but found a great car in GT Silver. Also, the way I drive, bright red and bright yellow seem foolish.

KNS 02-02-2015 02:52 PM

My wife said she would leave me if I ever bought a yellow car (not a big fan of it anyway).

Rick V 02-02-2015 02:58 PM

Sure I'd drive it, hell I drive a basic silver boxster and the jokes just roll off my back, hell I usually throw them out first, then remind them that jealousy is the worlds most powerful emotion. Who gives a crap what you drive other then you
