Ever Have A Dream That Was So Vivid...
Past few nights I have had dreams that were so vivid and clear I swear they were real and upon waking up I was amazed. A few were really good, a few were very disturbing but all I think I understand the messages (at least I shall fool myself into thinking so).
I have tried to think of any behavior that brought about them but nothing physical jumps out. Last night I did make a heaping plate of ultimate nachos rich in jalapeņos and beanless chili. If that was the catalyst for my dreamscape last night I think I shall make that a ritual every night! The line between reality and illusion is blurry sometimes.

Yup.
Many years ago I had one. While in dreamstate I went to bring my fist down on a table(in the dream) and ended up smacking my wrist on the headboard, cracking it. It was only a couple weeks later that I went to lift something at work and it cracked like a twig. Just last week I had one that was so real I woke up in a panic with my heart pounding. I was trying to call my wife but my fingers wouldn't function correctly to dial my cell phone.

Because of the 20+ years in the Navy I have had lots of dreams. But when I started taking Crestor for my high cholesterol the dreams started getting much more vivid and way more "technical" in nature. When I talked to my doctor about this she noted it was a side effect of the drug! She said if they turn into nightmares or I get so I can't sleep because of them she has a sleep medication that stops all the dreaming. So far they have been okay and give me some interesting things to think about the next day.

meds to stop dreaming? Oh shyt!!! That sounds like a recipe for psychosis!!!
Now why would a cholesterol lowering med affect neuro? Would the drug look to reduce the fat sheath around the nerve cells thus facilitating more neuron activities?

Yeah some of them were really vivid, one in particular was where I was walking with someone in a local park by the river. The park was fixed up a bit more than normal as though a couple of minor improvement projects has been done. Finally I remembered asking the date and it was about two years from then.
Of course when the date came around I wasn't even in town that day, let alone at the park.

If dreams are the result of demyelinated axons and/or dendrites, then yes anticholesterols could be the direct cause.
However, since the synthetic anticholesterols (statins) suppress the production of cholsterol by the liver, it is conceivable that that suppressive effect may also suppress the production of some unknown antineurotoxins. From whay I've read, liver function is panning out to be as mysterious as brain function. Maybe they are the same organ connected by enzymes, hormones and other whatnots. There appears to be a growing body of evidence that statins produce memory impairment, too. |

Grapes or cheese before bedtime do it for me, make my dreams very vivid
I've woken myself laughing at times and on one occassion woken up wanting to kill someone (this was because they stole my graphic equalizer out of my faded green 1969 VW beetle which I never owned in real life)

Oh yeah. It always seems like if I'm tired from the night before, and I take an afternoon nap, I have really vivid dreams.

I've had this dream quite a number of times...
It scares the living crap out of me. VERY clear and leaves me pretty (to borrow a term from the '70s) freaked out for the day. I'm waiting for my execution by hanging and being walked to the gallows. Maybe I need psychiatric help. |

If past life things exist, I'm sure this is one of them.

Ten years after I got my BS I was still having nightmares that I still had a class to take before I could graduate.
I had a very very vivid dream that part of my office building was gone, or maybe was never there. Thre was a hallway where the engineer's offices were that had 6 offices, three on each side. I dreamed the last two were gone and the guys who worked in them never existed. It was so real I went to work early the next day to see if they were there.

I wake up giggling from funny dreams at least once a month. Never nightmares. My wife says I wake hep up on occasions from giggling or laughing in the middle of the night.
