Now in 993 land ...

Ridiculous, isn't it? A FRONT fender vent? That is painful and soon will have jumped the shark. Even the Ford Focus had that 8 years ago. WTF?
I even don't like the rear fender vent. Always thought that was reserved for the turbo charged 911. Of course, it not having a stick shift is a deal breaker for me anyway, even if I had the money. G ![]() |

Considering the desired application I suspect that the vents are functional. But I agree with George, no manual means no interest for me. Not that I'm the target market anyway....

I could not care less about the lack of a stick shift. I already have three WITH stick shifts, so if the mood struck, I could hop into my manual trans cars. If I were in the income range to consider one of these, I'd be draped all over it like a cheap suit!

My big mistake when I bought my 9974S cab was not going for a 07 GT3 that the dealer had for not much more money at that tme. One has gone up in value while mine has tanked. I was afraid I would kill myself in that thing.

I got to drive a 997 GT3 RS and it was incredible. I can only imagine what this would be like!
There was an RS sitting at the dealer when I bought my old 997. I joked with the salesman about taking the RS for a drive and he said sure, or maybe a 997 Turbo. I went back to waiting for my used 997 to be ready for me to take home when I noticed the RS being pulled off the front showroom area and being pulled around to the parking area. Then I notice my salesman getting out and walking toward me. He said, "it's ready, lets go for a drive." The thing was crazy fast. Not quite the acceleration as my 930 but really good for a NA engine. The downforce with the big wing was incredible. We hit a dip in the road at over a hundred and I came out of the driver seat because the car just stuck down in the dip!
