Better Than Real Estate

Yesterday in Florida a 1969 Porsche 911S at a vintage Porsche auction sold for..and the envelope please......ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED US DOLLARS... Plus on site Buyers Premium. Former "R Gruppe" car from the West coast sold in 2004. Bet that R Gruppe member wants to put a bullet in his head right about now.

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?ahid=10335&aid=91633&lid=23436874&rfpb=0#Top

Whole Porsche auction catalog:

https://www.proxibid.com/asp/Catalog.asp?aid=91633&p=1&sort=0#cnTb

All the other vintage Porsches went for the same kind of Dinero.....Does this blow your skirts up BOYZ????

Ok - now I'm really thinking about selling my 77 Targa (row). The least desirable 911 on the road ... But I still think it could fetch $ just how much is the question. Could I get more than $20k?

I sold my 76 targa in 2013 for $50k! Still think I got top dollar for it!

I'd love to find a good deal on a '74 911S. You could back date it, improve on the engine, (no smog on a '74 in CA) and have an honest 911S emblem on the deck lid.

It was an unoriginal "daily driver" that needed paint and was on cookie cutters. It was not in any way similar to other special or restored cars. It was at the wrong venue.

Another, special '74 911s sold for $675,000.00

The question is, who was the R Gruppe owner of the 69 911S that went for $197,500.00 plus Buyers premium? You Boyz ought to know????

Yes. Last year the "S" meant anything.

Ohhhh Pleze Fint, this is the kind of stunt that you would expect from a Dipso or Kachi....only FINT, Dipso or Kachi would compare a RACING 74 911 DRIVEN BY PAUL NEWMAN with an ordinary 74 911S...and equate them as being the same.

Did I miss something? I see nothing about the engine; I did not see "numbers matching", there are some obvious anachronisms, etc. Seems like stupid money to me.

On GOOD QUALITY Hard Assets I do not think we have seen anything yet. Let us examine the factors.

1. The Federal Reserve has printed TRILLIONS of USD, with few places to put them where a ROI can be made.

A. Equity Market...the only real Investment game left in town. UP, Up and UP.

B. RE. With Millions of homes across the USA sitting in vacant foreclosure, the FED basically having bought the paper on them so that they can sit vacant and not flood the markets with inventory. A floor has been put under RE so that stability has been attained in the RE market. The problem with RE is that if people have falling wages or no job who is going to be able to afford to buy a home? Thus price appreciation on homes is going to have a ceiling.

C. US Bonds...negative return on investment. Somebody has to pay the price for keeping this government an economy afloat

D. Commodities... a slowing world economy means slowing demand for Commodities and thus volatile and falling prices.

E. Hard Assets.. Here we have a limited supply with a large demand (world wide for Porsches) A sea of printed liquidity has to go somewhere where there is perceived real value. Art, Cars, Coins, Spoons etc...

Since 2009 Hard Assets have been climbing as if people would rather have them than the worthless cash the FED has been printing. Thus we can see a further escalation in the value of these assets as time goes on.

Because you don't see it in the ONLINE description, it doesn't mean that they are not matching. If you were interested you would call and or go and examine them yourself.

Like I said...the '74 911S you picked was nothing special. I did not equate them as the same. Just the opposite. The one you pointed out is not even as nice as mine.
