Reminds me of the kid who was solo free climbing some very challenging rock faces. There was a TV show about him several years ago. Major pucker factor just watching him - is he still alive?

I guess I'll never understand this. Then again, one of the guys in my group at work is a very serious climber, like instructor level, search and rescue member, etc. He thinks I'm out of my mind hurtling around a racetrack in a 43 year old Porsche. To each his own...

Adreniline Junkie ! Just like those fools in Travis Pastrana's Nitro circus, I don't know if it's a death wish or just trying to live life on the edge ?

A couple years ago and I would have done it, but after two back surgeries and pushing towards a third before the age of 28, I've calmed down a bit. I put up my dirt bikes, skateboards, and parachutes.

Is it really that challenging or just not a place to face plant? Much of it looks like an easy ride with the grade going sideways. Unless there is poor traction, risk of a fall is low. So then it is only about keeping focus away from the fact that a fall = certain death ...

I would not do it of course. I like mt-biking but have just as much fun with a technical single track that doesn't guarantee my demise when I fall.

There was an awful lot of dust coming loose under his wheels - that to me suggests there's not a heck of a lot of traction there.

Brass balls, no brains. I suppose there's something to be said for dying doing what you love and not withering away in some convalescent home someplace, but that doesn't mean one has to be in a hurry to get it over with. I like a good thrill, but that's going a bit too far for my liking.
