SF bay area guys. you ready for the superbowl madness?
i see the traffic starting already. the bay bridge is crushed. we have a meeting downtown, and i bet it gets cancelled.
i really want to run down to the Ferry building this weekend to check out the festivities, but dang..i bet BART will be insane. i live East Bay, so at home i think i will not feel a thing. skirting the city for work..oh no! i hope the visiting football fans realize the game will be 2 hours south of San Francisco...no maybe 3.5 hours on that day.

Heard a news blurb that said avg ticket price was $5k and some mid-field sideline seats had already been sold for $12k each.
Yeah, it's a family event...

It's an event to be seen at, kinda like coutside Lakers seats. Those people don't care about basketball, and most of the mid-field sidline seats have those same people.

I was hoping to go explore going goose hunting in the South Bay, enjoying the empty roads. Then I learned the game is right there! AAAAAARGH!

I wonder how many Airbnb rentals will get trashed by sports fans?

I am in the eastbay and have no desire to visit the festivities.
However, my wife's office is one block away from the entrance to "Super Bowl City" at the foot of Market street. I suspect she will be working from home that week. Other wise I will be followin BE911SC's plan. |

Big deal. Courtside seats for last night's Warriors - Spurs games were going for $15K each. Hopefully, a Spurs fan didn't shell out that kind of dough to see their team get CRUSHED.

Get off my lawn!

If "they" (whoever they are) paid me 15K to go to the game and put up with that crowd and mess I would decline. All that hoopla about watching a bunch of men playing a game? No way. Heck even the commercials aren't even cool anymore. There used to always be a ton of really cool commercials but those were pretty lame last year.

I'm glad for attendees that the stadium moved to SC... As a recent returnee to the bay area, the region is as beautiful as ever, but SFO has become a cesspool of human excrement and homeless tents. At least the area of Superbowl city isn't too bad...

i bet money the shelter closes the week after the superbowl. bonus if it rains that day. officials spit-shined the city for the beautiful people and news cameras.

This is the real SFO:
My parking spot: ![]() The tail end of tent city.... ![]() That's actually the clean end. The spot better covered by the overpass looks like a Kurdish refugee camp. Welcome to the new America "not for losers" ;-( (there are nice spots too, of course, but nothing like the smell of human feces in the AM as you extricate what's left of your wheel from a giant pothole) |
