Lol ok. I am the OP. Not sure if you saw my later posts, but when I saw the car it clearly had a badly repaired bumper/quarter panel. I'm already off of it, but if you want to share the details for informational purposes I'm all ears!

OK ok ok..... I just stumbled across something.
2011 BMW

The previous page shows a price of $50k. Assuming there isn't something wrong, why would I not buy this right now? Has the competition package, and the frozen grey paint that is AMAZING and I've only seen in person once (living in Miami, that's saying something). It's not a stick, but on the flip side it would be faster on the track and when the wife needs to borrow it, she won't be as annoying about it.

I'm having a hard time understanding how this car is $50k. I'm getting excited.

There has to be a catch. I wonder if its been in a wreck...

Nevermind

I knew that was too good to be true. They have another website, same address but .net instead of .com

On the .com site they had the price at $50k. I was about to buy it.

On the .net site, they price is $69k, which I am pretty sure is the right price. Bastards.

I'm not lying to you about wholesale prices. That is where these dealers are buying them, and their goal is to make as much money as possible. If a relatively high mileage example is almost $50k at wholesale, the only way you are getting one for $50k is if it has issues, you get lucky and find a dealer that has sat on one too long, or buy one from an individual that just got a lowball trade offer.

The M3 I posted the link to had less than 2k miles. The $50k has to have been a typo.

Or a bait and switch.

Btw, if this car would be a keeper, read up on SMG maintenance and issues at high mileage. A stick is much cheaper to own, and they seem to retain their value better.

They should have chosen a more reasonable bait price. It was so low I knew it was too good.

The 2011 wouldn't be smg- it's a true dual clutch box. Plus, with 2k miles I'd be able to drive it a LONG time before it was high-mileage. I only seem to do about 7k per year.
