2 jerks in one spot = accident.
April 21, 2015 accident on NY tollway.
My take: Camaro is being a jerk trying to squeeze in. Pick up truck diver is being a jerk by parallel driving with the semi. Camaro actually causes the accident, but I'd hope after seeing the video that the pick up truck driver would be sited for being a left lane bandit. Pretty sure pick up only brake checked the Camaro once early on.

A Fiat 500 Abarth sort of tried to do that to me today when I was in my truck. We are at a stop light, he's on my right, across the intersection his lane slowly closes in with cones due to construction so there's only my lane. I'm just going along and all of sudden I see him trying beat me past the cones in maybe 30-40 feet while they are closing in to my lane, like "what are you thinking?". So I keep going, the truck is much faster, and he hits a cone and brakes hard.
it was fun. I did not get hurt.

truck driver was also being a total douche. I takes two to tango. If the truck driver had just let it go and let the guy in the camaro pass, but apparently, he had to teach the guy in the camaro a lesson. So, do you think the truck driver learned his lesson too? I doubt it. He'll probably be even more of an ass now.

Camaro driver needs some jail time.

Semi = innocent victim.
Pickup = Law abiding wanker. Camaro = needs to get stuffed headfirst into a truck-stop toilet. Then a couple of steel-toes to the nards. Then a good-ol'-fashioned ass-kicking. Then a week in jail, and a ticket with a comma in it.

If the Camaro driver hadn't have TAILGATED so aggressively...the p/u truck driver probably would have let him pass.
That was the biggest 'philosophical driving' error in the video - the aggressive tailgating. The rest is pretty basic stuff we see all the time....

I don't see it that way you guys do. the Camaro driver should have made a smooth move in front of the pickup. He hesitated and the pickup driver cut him off. That, plus, 'kettling' the guy was really really stupid.
And if that's what 'sports talk' sounds like, I think it could be more effective torture than waterboarding.

Now in 993 land ...

I see 4 idiots.
- Camaro - Pickup - Semi - Camera car We all agree on the Camaro. Most agree on the pickup. Dangerous to not let the Camaro squeeze in, even if he is being a moron and after that, locking him in. That's road rage too ... Semi, for not trying to break this crap up by varying speed, i.e. hit the brakes. Camera car for following too closely. Geez, if I have something like that going down in front of me, I stay WAY the hell back to not become part of the pile up that may ensure any second, which it did ... G |

My position on this is he shouldn't have proceeded to tailgate afterwards - he let his emotions overrule common sense. The tailgating is what set everything else into motion. And I agree about the annoying radio and the annoying ring tone....geez louise.... ![]()

Camaro is water.
Truck is vinegar. Did you hear the sound they made when they collided? Yep |

The guy in the camaro, I understand the frustration, but passing in the grass, really?? Yep, two dumbasses, they were the bulk of the problem. The camera car shouldn't have been that close but I'm not sure it mattered much, and the truck driver probably figured he was immune to the mischief of the others.

When someone is in that big of a hurry to get around me, I will always let them go. It's easy to say the Camaro driver was a douche, but maybe he was having a real emergency. Maybe a passenger in the car was having a heart attack, maybe his pregnant wife's water just broke - who knows? Besides, if he really is just a douche, now I have someone running interference for me. No skin off my nose either way.
The guy in the truck, in my opinion, was the far bigger ass hole. In Washington, he would have been breaking the law by hanging out in the left lane and pacing the semi. We've all been caught behind the clueless that are doing this without even knowing; they are simply distracted, not checking their mirrors, and just not paying attention to the world outside their car. That's frustrating enough. But when a guy does it on purpose, just to be an ass and make some kind of a point, it goes beyond frustrating. Our State Patrol has identified left lane camping as our number one cause of road rage, and has actually staged emphasis patrols to crack down on it. Myself, if I were in the camera car, it would have been everything I could muster to not grab something heavy and blunt from that truck and re-arrange the pickup driver's face, beating him so freaking senseless that even he wouldn't be able to remember if it happened in the wreck or not.

But the camera car showed a huge lack of situational awareness. How could he not see that the final outcome was on the cards from early on?
