Be careful what you sign...
We have finally given notice to our existing management co. where our condo is located.
We have selected another one. The one we have now is pretty sad. It gets a one star rating out of 5 in the reviews. The man. co is very big in North Am. I am not willing to disclose which it is until our contract is over this fall. We ended up having them because our previous man. co was taken over by the pos co. If anybody is involved in looking at a new man. co for their building pm me so you can avoid this co. They like to take your $$$ but don't like to do a good job. Not only that but our $$ were in trust. With our new man. co we will be signing our own cheques at monthly meetings. We spent some time and $$$ with a condo lawyer. We told him why we wanted to change and he had our full support. Some of us on the Board smelt a rat and now we breathe easier. Thanks for listening. Guy |

I had a management company tending to a triplex I own. They were bulldogs collecting the rent but very bad at getting new tenants. Now, I do it myself.

I think you are smart to do that. I personally collect rent from our tenants . Being on the Board we interface between the owners and the management co. The management co. collects the condo fees, pays all the bills, does the accounting etc for a fee per month. The changes we get with the new man. co is that we don't want in trust. This way our reserve fund, cheque signing are much more visible. Accountability and transparency are paramount. Cheers, Guy |
