Well that looks like a Murphy plug.

I've never seen an outlet for a plug like that. Maybe it's DC.

How did you add another spade. Did you have to strip the cord the entire way and add in a wire too, then tape it all back up? What about the other end? Or do just ground to the floor, or couch with a sheet metal screw?

There is another ground that passes by an actuator......

Makes sense on getting the murphy bed to come down smoothly.

You know the law, if something can go plug it will go plug.

yuppers, but I keep my bikes in there and other hobby stuff. Don't want to clutter it up with a bed that would be used less than 10 times a year. My office is bad enuff with clutter.

That does not look like an electrical plug.

That right there is an unbent Murphy plug. Not to be confused with a straight Murphy plug -- those are two separate animals.

BTW: your Murphy bed setup is wow. Just wow. Nice job!
