I've never seen an outlet for a plug like that. Maybe it's DC.

How did you add another spade. Did you have to strip the cord the entire way and add in a wire too, then tape it all back up? What about the other end? Or do just ground to the floor, or couch with a sheet metal screw?

Here, you need the matching plug for it (removed from rental remodel yesterday):
 It is an antique and very rare but I will cut you a deal because you are a PPOT brother.
