A heavy cable looking to be sheathed in coper pipe, I have no idea what that would be used for but it looks pretty skookum!

The cable is Vitalink MC cable. VITALink MC Power Cables | Omni Cable

It is spec'ed for a 2 hr fire rating. We are using it to feed power to new fire suppression pumps in the Port Authority Bus Garage in Manhattan. Over $200 per foot. There is about 1500 feet being run. I can't wait to scrap the waste!

Nice! I've done plenty of big MC cable, but its all had a corrugated aluminum jacket when it gets that big. Is there a PVC coating on that?

Thanks for the post.... I'd typically see a pump feed underground but in this case I guess no. What's 1500 ft doing to your ampacity ?
I inspect for a living but sparky stuff is my weak point...

Clue us clueless ones a little more on the scope. Feed size A, pump requirement at 100+ percent etc

The pumps are;

100hp 3Ph
3500 RPM
750 GPM at 335' TDH
460V
400 amps

All cable is exposed.

There are 4 pumps and the need to push A LOT of water.

Why is the copper shielding left exposed? seems it would be a green corroded mess in short order.
