Darwin is a busy dude , WTF was that guy thinking?

Read about this accident this morning:.

so a guy has a man lift, often called a cherry picker.
It isn't sitting on the flat level firm ground, instead it is sitting on the back of a flatbed truck.
Are the outriggers down for stability? Hell no. it's sitting on it's rubber tires. On the truck bed.
Did I mention that it's pretty windy?
So the logical thing to do in that situation is take 4 kids up with you, 6 stories in the air and wait for a gust of wind to topple it and crush you all into the ground.
Which BTW didn't take long.
If he just took himself out that'd be one thing, but did he have to do that to the kids?
IN-sane.

And here's the amazing part. He owned his own tree business and used manlifts like that all the time, which means HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!

Man killed in cherry picker accident identified; 12-year-old victim was nephew

Albuquerque police have identified 56-year-old Ken Raschick as the man killed in a cherry picker lift accident over the weekend. The other victim, a 12-year-old boy, was his nephew, according to APD.

Raschick and four other children were inside the lift when a gust of wind brought the machine down in a lot near Dorothy and Central in southeast Albuquerque on Sunday.

APD says Raschick's 10-year-old son is in stable condition and the boy's 7-year-old brother is listed in critical condition. A 10-year-old neighbor who was also riding in the cherry picker bucket is still hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigators believe the crane's stabilizing legs were not deployed and the lift was perched on top of a flatbed truck as Raschick and the children took a ride in the bucket. Both factors, along with weather, likely contributed to the accident, according to APD.

The department's Crimes Against Children Unit is investigating, but there are no charges pending at this time.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Raschick family and loved ones of those involved," APD said in a statement.

So
This spicificly is addressed in the Ohsa handbook-
Paragraph 24-
"The aerial platform shall not be operated from a position on trucks, trailers, railway cars, floating vessels, scaffolds, or other similar equipment unless the application is approved in writing by the manufacturer."

Thoughts and prayers.

Before he did it, the thoughts alone would have saved them.
