some guys: can pull off the look and the only disadvantage i see is you cannot run fast to escape the throng of summer warmed hot chicks trying to get with you and your perfect feet.

others? wow..i have seem some jankyass feet.. saw an older dude yesterday rocking dress socks and flip flops.

i'm planning a pig bowhunting trip in Hawaii. my buddy said to pack light..some camo, my light boots and flip-flops. wut?

vash 06-22-2015 09:27 AM

sorry for the slow news day..i got nothing..haha.

happy summer friends.

stomachmonkey 06-22-2015 09:30 AM

They give me calf cramps after a day of wearing them.

Mark Henry 06-22-2015 09:31 AM

Flip-flops no, crocs yes.

This is the only reason I don't wear flip-flops.

911SauCy 06-22-2015 09:36 AM

Of course I don't, because my feet begrudgingly fit into my work shoes after a weekend of floppin'.

LOL. Sandals are for girls. I don't want to see your feet!

I refuse to wear flip flops for the exact same reason. According to my wife that makes me some sort of freak. :)

winders 06-22-2015 09:43 AM

I live in flip flops during the summer! I even wear them at that the track.

These are my favorites:

Kia’i Kei

Amail 06-22-2015 09:48 AM

^^ This - these are the most comfortable flip flops I've ever worn. They have fantastic arch support and are comfortable all day, day in and day out. My DD's outside the office when the weather's warm.

Evans, Marv 06-22-2015 09:49 AM

I have two types, the thong type and the type that has the flap that goes over the tops of my feet. I'm using the thong type today. I use them during hot weather or when I don't want to be taking shoes on & off. I don't worry about the appearance of my feet, since I has an older lady years ago at a pool party comment on how beautiful my feet were. Creepy!

wildthing 06-22-2015 09:54 AM

I have been blissfully unaware of this term until recently. Growing up, wearing a pair of 'slippers', as we call them, is a must around the house. Cheap. Rubber. Think $1 a pair Old Navy type.

And if you are going outside, you have a different pair for that. You don't want the dirt from outside to get on the recently cleaned floor. :)

And we wore them everywhere. Walking. Biking. Impromptu pick up basketball games. It was the tropics.

Gogar 06-22-2015 09:57 AM

They make flip-flops for men?

Not there there's anything wrong with it.

URY914 06-22-2015 10:21 AM

I've lived in Florida all my life and only started wearing them 5-6 years ago. When I was a kid, there were guys wearing them to HS. I now have two pairs; one for the house and one for public viewing. I am conscious of how white my feet are when I where them out. I look like a tourist instead of a native. :(

Oh Haha 06-22-2015 10:27 AM

Can't stand them or the annoying 'slap, slap" sound they make. I swear the people who wear them enjoy that sound and try to annoy everyone else around them with it.

My daughter wears them but somehow manages to NOT make that sound.

either the slap, slap sound or dragging feet like they're skating

billh1963 06-22-2015 10:47 AM

Only girls or gay men wear sandals.....

mistertate 06-22-2015 10:51 AM

I try to only wear them with dress slacks and a t-shirt that says 'Troxel Family Reunion 2008'
I don't know who the Troxels are

sammyg2 06-22-2015 10:55 AM

I wear flip-flops from April to November every year, everywhere except work.

Outside of work the standard fare is Hawaiian shirt (or t-shirt if doing chores) and shorts with lots O'pockets and flip-flops.

I attend a casual dress service at church so I can wear sandals there too just like Jesus wore.

EDIT
This may be a regional thing.
In coastal cities or very warm regions flip flops may be more acceptable than in other places.

in So Cal flip flops are as common as bottled water.
Maybe in others places they are not.
it's also very possible that folks who live in places where flip flops are common take better care of their footsies and toe-nails that folks who live ...... elsewhere.

Howz that fer being PC and not telling anyone to go do bad things to themselves?
I'm so pround. :)

Yes!! That too! Just absolutely grates on my nerves.

JavaBrewer 06-22-2015 11:11 AM

Flip flops are my daily go to foot wear. They are also my default for travel - so easy on the airplane and through security checks. The only time I regretted them was when I had to walk to the outdoor rental car facility in Omaha, it was January...

GH85Carrera 06-22-2015 11:15 AM

When I was a kid I liked them. Then I became a man and no more flip flops. Just my experience. Yours may vary.

^^+1

Enjoying a penis in your butt is 'ghay'
Flip flops, not so much.
Easy on and off summer wear, nothing wrong with it. ( + my GF says I have nice feet. )

Craig T 06-22-2015 11:16 AM

Unless I'm at a wedding or a funeral, I'm in flip flops...and that's all year round. I like the Quicksilver ones with the bottle opener.

Chocaholic 06-22-2015 11:18 AM

Please tell me you don't wear them while traveling. Rancid greenish-yellow nails and crusty skin are not what the world wants to see hanging out in the airplane aisle when you cross your legs, so all can enjoy the view.

Craig T 06-22-2015 11:24 AM

I'm with JavaBrewer...traveling in flip flops is BEST reason to wear them. Maybe it's a SoCal beach city thing.

ossiblue 06-22-2015 11:39 AM

This has gotta be a regional thing.

Living in SoCal, flip-flops are so common as to be not even noticeable. I live a stone's throw from the Rainbow Sandal factory and they are my daily footwear, now that I'm retired. There were only two days, this year, that I didn't wear them--the two days it rained in Capistrano Beach.

Even here in flip-flop heaven, wearing socks with them is the ultimate fashion faux pas.

VINMAN 06-22-2015 11:40 AM

My standard footwear in the summer. I'm more than confident enough in my masculinity, that I couldn't give a flying fugg what anyone thinks.

They're right off Pico, right?

I'll have to stop in and check them out. I just hope the hot babes can take it.

Yep, in the little light industrial park.

If I pull out the track days and heavy yard work, I can honestly say that I haven't been in shoes more than 10 times in the last year.

Daily drivers in the back. My fancy leather ones for upscale dinners and gatherings up front.

Ha, I saw those ones. Quite nice flip flops as well as being multi-purpose.

Living at the beach; it's kinda the dress code around here for the whole summer.
