$29 to insure the Rudge Whitworth

The recent brush fire got me thinking, so I called Hagerty and they will insure the 1930 Rudge Whitworh 500cc Grand Prix Ulster for $29/year for fire insurance. I don't ride it, 50K valuation.
The pic is a green screen I did for Shaun a few years ago.

Duh......take it. How much if it runs and you ride it? Ask the surcharge for old people.....

It doesn't have a kick start, you have to push it and dump the compression release. Very hard to do by yourself. Plus it has no gas or oil when stored, so starting and running it is a big time investment. I might run it up and down the 1/4 mile of my gated community once in a while, that is about it. Honestly, my Son suggested that I look into insuring it. I'm glad I did. The Calgrove Brush fire came within about 1/4 mile of the house 3 days ago. Seems like a lot of distance, but brush fires can move at 60MPH.

$29/year seems like a no brainer...I'd sign up quick before that latest fire hits their database and the rates go up.

I have to agree it is a no brainer. Get the insurance. I feel confident you can afford the eight cents per day cost.
